Does the Black Slime lay slime eggs?

The Witch turned my first slime (green) into a Black Slime. The question is: Does it lay Black Slime Eggs? Or Green Slime Eggs? Or no slime eggs at all?

Since I'm farming Iridium Ore from Skull Cavern right now, I thought it was fun to start raising Slimes, and I like it (plus, the eventual Slime Eggs give me some nice gold for almost no effort).

I want all my Slimes to be purple, or at least to lay Purple Slime Eggs, so that's what I'm worried about.

Slime's won't lay eggs in the hutch, I believe. You need to put 100 slime into a slime press to get a randomly coloured egg of the four avaliable or wait until more are dropped, but they are however, rare. The black slime will keep the original properties of the green slime.

Oh, I see. When I read on the wiki that they might drop Slime Balls, I thought it was Slime Eggs. Not that great, then, but still fun. Thanks for the reply!

It's the same as before. If it was green, then it's black, it should have the stats of a green still, I think... I know the blue ones still have their powerup thing, where they blink and run faster, after they turn black.

I don't think it affects their drops at all. I'm not sure what happens if you have a black slime and mate it with another green one. Black would be the dominant color, I'd imagine...
