Chickens or Rabbits?

Uhhh... Both have their benefits. You do need a rabbit's foot for the Community Center, but if you're going the Joja route, I'd pick sheep over rabbits if you need wool. It just seems like rabbits give wool either randomly or every 3-4 days, whereas sheep can be boosted to give wool every 1-2 days.

If you're talking about money exclusively, keep in mind that chickens require a bit more work. They lay eggs daily, so you get your money sooner, but if you don't check them frequently there'll be no room for them to lay eggs. Rabbits only drop wool every few days, so you can just check them every week or so if you want.

Chickens can also reproduce via the incubator.

I'd go with chickens personally.
