Iridium Bars

What do I need to transmute loose iridium pieces into bars? And which level of mining is that? (I'm at 8)

Ah? You cant transmute gold into iridium and you need 5 ores to put in the furnace to get 1 bar, like all other ores

No, I have iridium pieces, but they won't go into the furance. What else do I need (besides coal)? Or am I just not at a high enough level.

I craft one at lvl7 in Mining (Open some magma geodes and get iridium).

You need exactly the same thing as with other ores. 5 Iridium ores and 1 coal.

I don't believe there's a level requirement to smelt metal bars.

Hate to ask the obvious, but are you sure that you aren't accidentally mixing up the furnace with the charcoal kiln or recycling machine? Early on I found myself accidentally trying to insert ores into the kiln with no luck. Felt pretty stupid when I realized I was interacting with the wrong machine :P

Also, make sure it isn't already smelting something. Had my furnace behind something and forgot that I had put iridium in it.
