Report a translation problem
The waters close to the mountain is the, well' yknow.
Lake/river is self-explanatory.
River: Anywhere in town or the forest.
Lake: The huge lake northeast of Robin's house. I'm not sure if the smaller lake in Cindersap (the one with the dock) counts, but I think not.
Beach: Self explanatory.
Caves: There's 3 fishing spots in the cave, but it's mainly trash there.

Thanks for the link. I came across this thread because of the same issue as OP.
I do wonder, though, where the "mountain lake" becomes the "river." I was fishing south of the lake, but didn't get anything that's not on both lists - meaning I couldn't distinguish between the two locatiosn based on catches.
I thought fishing locations were by map, not a specific area of a map. I could be wrong though.
