Find Copper/Silver/Gold Bars?
Is it possible or do i need to create the furnace? I see a furnace is a prize in one of the community center bundles. Ironically requires 1 of each bar. Dont see why Id get rewarded with a furnace if it requires a furnace to complete that bundle.

You do need to create a furnace, it's only 20 copper ore and 25 stone to craft. It's *possible* to find bars from monsters or get given them from mail gifts, but it is *far* from enough for anything. You *need* to craft a furnace. Clint gives you the recipe the day after you find ore.

The reward for completing the blacksmiths bundle is a furnace. http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Bundles#Blacksmiths_Bundle

The only requirement to completing is 1 bar of each: copper, gold and silver. I know its easy to craft a furnace but it really bugs me that youd be rewarded with a furnace after needing to craft one to complete the bundle. So is finding 1 of each bar type not feasible? Im on floor 45 of the mine.

Finding the bars isn't really feasible, as they have a very low chance to drop. However, it is beneficial to have many furnaces, especially when you're up to smelting gold (5 hours per bar) and iridium (8 hours per bar).

The small rewards are meaningless compaired to completing the entire room of bundles. As the entire room unlocks something special, each bundle in a room also give you a small reward, an extra furnace is never unwanted with the lack of stone you'll have later.

Lack of stone? Is that an issue for most players? I'm on the 20th of year 2, and I have well over 2k stone and 3k wood... I don't know what to do with it all. It's driving me nuts lol. The wood was because I still haven't cleared out half of my farm, so there is ALWAYS a forest on the south-western side of my farm. But the stone is just because almost NOTHING seems to use it...

Preserve jars for veggies use 40 stone each, I think? Typically if people care enough, get a couple charcoal kilns and toss wood in. You usually have a ton of wood, and at endgame, you can buy 999 wood for 10k, which is nothing. Preserve jars boost crap crops like blueberries.

Also staircases are 99 stone each; essential for getting through the Skull Mines.

All right, so Jet? Yes, you are going to need a furnace. There's like... no question or argument about it. Now, if you know this and you're asking yourself questions like "Why would I need or want another furnace if I've already got one?", the answer is simple: it's more efficient to have 2 or more!

Smelting starts to become a time-consuming process when you begin to work with more valuable metals, and when it comes to making the best use of your time, you'll appreciate the thought of interrupting your schedule to return to your furnaces if there's 2 or more smelted bars to come back to.

Also, there's this logic behind trying to complete the bundle as well:

Aside from the preposterously implied notion that stone is like some super difficult resource to acquire, I agree with their statement; compared to the full reward you get when you complete all of the bundles in a room, the small prizes are just simply a nice add-on to completing the bundles. If you find that the small bundle prize isn't all that worth it, then rather looking at it for the unappealing prize that it's offering, look at it as getting one step closer to that full-room prize.

Meh, Furnaces take time to turn ore into Bars. better to have more than one furnace if your planning on crafting anything
Jet Apr 24, 2017 @ 6:10pm
Ohhhh nice guys. I didnt know the furnace was like one of those items you want to stack a lot of. So it looks like its very time consuming since it calculates based on in game time to complete the process. Ok, I can justify that. Furnace prepared to be owned. Cheers.
