CHALLENGE SAVEFILE: Going full rancher skills and animal farmer. Anyone got some points of advice or strats for a new save file?
Going to use only animals as my only source of income for my next file to provide a challenging experience... Anyone got some advice on what should I do to make this farm succeed?

You're only planning on animals as your only source of income?

No crops, since you need some G early I need to get some wood for a coop. And yeah, animals only unfortunately I am wondering if I should try to only go with products or the artisan path. It's too easy so I am gonna have to put a ton of work if I go with products since it's too easy with cheese or wine.

you're probably gonna need to forage, cause i the coop is 4,000 gold, and you won;t be able to make wine anyway, you need farming level 8 to get access to craft kegs.

Lots of fishing. Get a full coop ASAP; don't bother with the incubator for anything other than void or dinosaurs imo, it takes too long without the Coopmaster perk.

Build enough silos that even with 10 barns you won't need to refill their feeders constantly.

Honestly, plant the parsnips at the beginning. They'll help you get to at least level 1 Farming, I think. After they grow, if you're adamant about not selling, either eat them for energy or give them to Pam as a loved gift. Raising your Farming skill with animals is awful - at least boost yourself to level 1 via parsnips.

Remember that petting animals gives Farming XP, as does milking and shearing, but picking up eggs and truffles gives no XP, nor does processing their goods. It's up to you whether you sell the eggs/milk outright or hold onto it until you get machinery.

Keep your non-daily animals in separate areas to avoid confusion. For example, if one goat gives milk on even days, put it in your first barn, and put your odd-day goat into your second barn.
