heres how to get your controller working
**Buy this** http://store.steampowered.com/app/367670

Launch controller companion before opening the game.

also set your gas to "g" and brake to "f" in the launcher to be able to use those properly.

on your controller

X = shift up

B = Shift down

A = E Brake

RT = Throttle

LT = Brake

How do you get the steering to work though? Can't remap it on the input screen for DSJ.

Edit* Just remap your moving sticks to WASD in Controller Companion.
Works awesome, and good for netflix as well. Thanks a lot again for showing me this app!

Yeh, but this game made me want a real car, so I can't waste any money.

Its 3 dollars. if three dollars is standing in your way of buying a real car, you shouldnt be buying a car

Yes. Don't do what OP stated. Just reset all input to default (Windows Users):

Delete current input:

Start Menu > Regedit > hkey_current_user > software > jdm4ik > Drift Street Japan
Anything that starts with "_input" delete it

Remapping keys to controller:

Start Controller Companion
Start Drift Street Japan

Go to input in Drift Street Japan
Keys should be reset back to default (if not close it, and verify cache in steam)

Now go to Controller Companion > Profiles > Click the + and add Drift Street Japan
Now right click on DSJ icon and click "edit"
Simply rebind the keys to the default keys on DSJ input.

DONT REMAP ANY OF THE JOYSTICKS IN DSJ INPUT SETTINGS LEAVE THEM DEFAULT

To get your steering to work remap the left movement joystick in Controller Companion (Second last on in the bind menu) to "WASD Keys"
Hit apply, ok.
You should now be able to move your mouse with your controller and everything should work in DSJ.

The above will work with xbox controllers.

For PS controllers you need to first do this:
Controller Companion > Advanced > Setup Xbox Controller Emulator
Install and restart your pc.

Start the emulator, and press the "clear" button on the bottom of the program to delete all current binds. Simply rebind all the keys one by one to your preference (click an input, then click "record" to rebind a key) and follow the steps above for the xbox controller.

Damn, this still isn't working. The only time I got close was when I got the triggers the wrong way round (so LT was gas) but then steering was difficult. Re-mapped them the right way round and now the brake is jammed on again. I'm at my wits end here.

What kind of controller are you using?
