Common problems

The game is lagging, or the audio is stuttering
Go into the options settings on the main menu and lower the resolution / video settings.

The mouse is inverted
Go into the options settings on the main menu, click the mouse tab, and tick / uptick the invert mouse buttons.

I keep getting stuck under the bed in the game
You have to 'hold' the RMB, when you let go it takes a second to lift back up. Do not click RMB again otherwise it will reset this second timer and you will remain under the bed. Never double click RMB whilst under the bed.

Visual Studio 2015 is needed to play this game
This is a common occurrence with the latest games running the VS 2015 c++ as most are still using 2013.

Your PC is not up to date with the latest 2015 windows updates.
You may have installed c++ 2015 runtime, however it also has an official Microsoft update associated with it. Without it, your computer refuses to use it, even if you have installed it manually from the website.

• Go to control panel > system & security > windows update.
• Install all important updates.
• Restart computer.
• Check there are no more updates, and that they were all successful with no failures.
• Repair / Install visual studio 2015

If you still get the message. Use this to reset your windows update components.

Remember to use the "search for updates" button too, as it will often say there are no updates when there is.

i do not know i do i have a i9 processor
either way i didn't have this problem before it just started for me
my mouse curser will act like its on the desktop and when i right click to open door/ turn on the lights the desktop right click menu comes up and its hard to do the simplest tasks

I have the exact same problem, it's still playable but not easy. It makes us exit to desk sometimes (because of the curser clicking on something on the desktop).

i just installed the game
in my case every time i click to turn on the flashlight or interact the game either: freezes and only continues normally if i hit the "home/windows" button from keyboard then back into the game.
or, upon clicking to interact, it kicks me out to the desktop

I tried lowering everything, but theres a huge blinding white glow on the right side of the bedroom.
