I'm not sure why the saves are being deleted, or if there's anything I can do to get them back.
But I have a few ideas:
In the installation folders there should be an ErrorLog.txt, send me the contents of that file, and that might give me a hint as to what went wrong.
There should also be a BulletHeaven2data.meow file. If that file is damaged you could try deleting it or moving it to a different folder, and start the game without it. There's a chance the temporary data file still exists, and the game will get the data from that instead.
I think I should also prepare a "complete" save file, so that I can give it to people who've lost theirs. That way they can at least continue playing from where they stopped.
I also have absolutely no problem in going back and playing through the levels, as in 4 days, I rushed to world 7 with all at least single star rank.
My main problem with the reset is with the high scores, especially my Cumulative Score for the whole game. This happened to me once before, when I was in world four, but that was because I got a new computer and reinstalled the game. I then went back and redid those levels, but when i started doing new levels, my cumulative score did not go up. I discovered that my Cumulative Score was exclusive to each save file; meaning, my cumulative score was completely different from the one I had on my other computer. So, I went back and beat every one of my old high scores, without exception. When most of my scores were beaten, my Cumulative Score finally increased.
Anyway, the same thing happened; each of the scores i set took a long time to do, and I made it to the end of world 9. I was going at around one or two levels per day. I really don't want to get new higher scores, since I would have to replay the game and get EVEN BETTER scores for each level in order to increase my cumulative score. The Bionic Bee and Divine Destroyer as well as Survival Level 4 caused me the most trouble to get really high scores. Is there anyway that once I have finished all the levels, that you can just add up all my scores for the levels and enter it as my cumulative score? I think I am in the top 5 for every level except level 1, so you can see all my scores immediately. My score for level 1 is 12,268,379.
It would be great if you could make my cumulative score the sum of scores that I have ever gotten rather than the sum of scores on each level since my last reset, since my high scores for each level still show up on the leaderboards. I want to create as much difference between myself and 3rd place (Andran I think).
I have really enjoyed your games ever since I discovered Epic Battle Fantasy 3 in 2010. You are a fantastic designer, keep it up!
Ooooh, I see what you mean. Yeah, the Total High Score will be a problem if you lose your data. There's not much you can do to fix it without hacking the save file.
If you're worried about ever losing your save files again, you can use the "Save Export" feature from the options menu, and that'll let you make a backup.
Sorry but I don't have any better solutions for you. ):

I really want to fix this if you couldn't tell. But I know the answer might just be "The engine sucks, nothing you can do". Anyways, I love your games and I'll still play this with the lag, but I'll have to play on hard and forego high scores.
The engine sucks, nothing you can do - kind of.
This seems to happen with a lot of games running on Adobe Air - using the mouse and keyboard together causes the lag. So you should try a different control scheme.
Another thing that helps (if I remember correctly) is turning off keypress-repeating in your Windows control panel - that seems to be the root of the problem.
There is a player by the name of Spark101 on the leaderboards, who is obviously doing some heavy hacking to put himself at the #1 rank on the boards. He has submitted scores that are absolutely impossible to obtain, and are about 5 times the score of the second rank.
For an example, he holds the #1 rank on level 1-1 for top score on heavenly difficulty, with a score of 79,001,698. The second rank player has a MUCH more believable 15,266,943. I'm in rank 46 with a personal highscore of 11,630,326, on heavenly difficulty with a perfect run with all handicaps except pacifist on. I can see how someone would be able to stretch their score another few million by doing some heavy grazing, and it looks like the #2 rank has done so. Unfortunately for him, his reward for such effort, the #1 ranking spot on the leaderboards, has been usurped by someone using some kind of hacking utility to impossibly inflate his score.
Is there any way to strike Spark101 from the leaderboards? I'd really hate to see this game turn into yet another game where the top leaderboard scores are all held by cheaters and hackers, and those that make an effort and test their skill really should be rewarded with their deserved top spots on the leaderboard.
I can delete his scores, but I can't ban him. So I like to wait a while and hope that he's stopped playing the game before deleting scores.
I had pacifist handicap on for a bit, testing my skill against bosses and just seeing if I could time them out. Then I got tired of that and jumped in to some survival runs, but I forgot to turn of pacifist handicap. In Survival, if you have pacifist handicap on you can still fire your weapons as normal, but your weapon energy bars don't appear. I played around with it a bit, and it seems to work normally; the bars seem to fill and deplete at a normal speed. They're just not visible to the player.
I turned off Pacifist handicap and went back into survival, and the weapon energy bars reappeared. So the only problem is that, yes, the handicap is disabled while in survival mode, but you still can't see your weapon energy.
I've noticed this happens not just off the bottom of the screen, but also if the enemies escape to either side. Anna's shot is locked on to them, and I've had to stop firing and start again to reset the target lock. Probably doesn't help any if someone has primary weapon autofire enabled.
Yeah, that sounds like a bug I'd accidentally leave in. Should be an easy fix for whenever I get round to updating the game.
Another thing to note is that i've played the game just fine last week. This problem is new since friday.
Any idea's?
I haven't made any changes to the game - and if you haven't changed any options then I don't think the game is doing anything differently from before. I'm gonna have to guess there's something else wrong with your computer - did you install any updates or anything like that?
The only thing that has changed is that I Installed the new AMD Update, I'll try reverting to the older one when I'm at home.
Fixed the problem, When I got home I checked windows event log and the fault lies in PlaysTV crashing the game. When closing it I get no crashes. Sadly no game recording then =/
