I first tried to get all triple star ranks without any handicaps, because I thought the stars were just awarded based on the number of diamonds, but that's not true. It doesn't seem to be based on points alone, either. I haven't figured out the formula yet, but basically I feel it's easier with a high multiplier. I've gotten triple star runs on abysmal runs where I barely survived wave ten and used up a couple bombs.
That being said, the divine destroyer is one of the hardest bosses, I don't have a triple star rank yet, either. So, I guess it's possible he's bugged, though I very much doubt it.
If you find him hard, use set: Speed -15%, Attack -30%. You'll have x1.00 multiplier, but the game should be easier now (still it isn't a way to make high scores) - here you need 10 diamonds to get 3-star ;)
I'll try using more handicaps next time I attempt it. :)
not like I have a 3 star on that boss yet
High contrast mode helps alot on bosses!
Especially in the more cluttered waves.
Not so much in standard levels where the bullets differ too much.
