AXIS Survey March 2024: While the survey data suggests that 1.82% of Steam users own VR headsets, it's important to consider the context of survey participation. https://axisxr.gg/steam-hardware-survey-march-2024-insights-into-vr-headsets/#:~:text=While%20the%20survey%20data%20suggests,drawing%20definitive%20conclusions%20becomes%20challenging.
I would not trust the developers and publishers to not pull the game again to try to draw Steam players to Epic again. Why go VR?? You want to go out of business Silver Fish? Just stupid.
Why don't you buy all of us VR Headsets, Mr. Moneybags. Creating a VR only game is a kin to business suicide on your returned develop and publishing costs. See below...
According to a Steam survey in June 2024, 1.99% of Steam users have virtual reality (VR) headsets. Steam survey data suggests that only 1.99% of users have VR headsets

Presently, VR only games are not profitable since the overwhelming majority of PC game customers do not have a headset. The smart play would be make games for both PC and VR to maximize financial returns for the game developers and publishers. What probably happened was Vertigo Games (4A Games/Deep Silver) was banking on the METRO title would motivate people to buy VR headsets to spur on the industry. Unfortunately, they screwed their past customer base by pulling METRO Exodus from STEAM to an exclusive deal with EPIC Game Store. So selling a VR only game is just spitting in the face of that same customer base.
Because you aren't owed a headset, buy your own they aren't expensive.
Fun fact: A steam survey does not include every vr user...
That's just regurgitating the stats which are publicly visible... Again, Not all vr players are on steam...
also for something unprofitable weird how that site is praising vr...
Blade and Sorcery, Boneworks/labs, H3VR, Into The Radius, Beat saber oh and just a tiny indie game called Half life Alyx seems pretty profitable to me...
ah yes because retooling a whole ass vr game to kb+m is easy. that's why the hla novr mod is still very barebones years later...
You got a source for that? Last i checked the vr industry is doing fine without them...
And? If you hate VR so much move to epic then, they barely support vr...
Didn't know this happened but nice to know companies are getting more petty
