why? because i got stuck there first time playing the game, which wasn't a big deal since i used quick saves, and then forgot about it and got stuck there today while doing Iron Mode and had to reload the chapter to an hour earlier.
i'm not saying it'll happen to you, but be warned.
also i'm gonna do the Casian level skip because i don't wanna risk the game crashing on the Lighthouse so if you're bugging out there as well you might just skip the level as well.
also if you mean a small camp on the train tracks then i crashed during regular gameplay there as well. need to remember to avoid it.
I've just got through Caspian with 0 issues thank god, I just stuck to the few main missions and rushed through it lol. Yeah the camp I'm on about is probably the same one, a small narrow building on top/right next to the tracks in the bottom right of the map. In my hardcore play through the moment one of the bandits at that place shot at me the game would hard lock up :/
Edit: Taiga went fine..apart from this incident lmao https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3480131218
Now I'm on the last leg of the journey, Dead City
Dbl Edit: 100% obtained...time to work on the enhanced edition...after a break lol.
i had an awful time earlier today in Dead City. was playing for an hour and a half and then made a wrong turn running from the Blind One and jumped out of the window -_-
i redid it and an hour later after killing the Blind One duo (didn't wanna risk dying to them) i finally finished it. Iron Mode really is annoyingly time consuming when you encounter a random crash/bug. i had a much better time with Ranger Hardcore.
now i'm doing DLCs and not using a medkit achievement is a bit challenging. can't wait to be done with Exodus, as much as i love it. i need a break after playing 3 playthroughs of it in a row.
Apart from the maintenance train getting stuck on the junction in Volga and the rocket chair incident everything in my iron run went fine pretty much. I did play it on the story difficulty or whatever it's called so everything was easy to put down or sneak past although I did still nearly die a few times from getting cocky and trying to run though areas with the spiders and leeches or running into a bump that launched me off a edge or down some stairs. I honestly think Artyoms main injury in my Iron mode run was sprained ankles from falls ahaha!
For the no healing run on the Two Colonels make sure to rebind the healing key as just using it once invalidates the achievement and you need to start the dlc over again as reloading wont reset it. Also I'd suggest to play it on a lower difficulty so you can actually save whenever and you take less damage overall. I'm not surprised you're burnt out doing 3 runs to get the achievements etc, I got most of them years ago so I only had to do a hardcore run and Iron mode with a few missing eg use lift to get into the oasis etc. When you just do the main missions the game is rather short.
Also what I did learn for the 1st time on this play through is that you can stick tape over a broken gas mask. No idea if it's a new feature in Exodus or if it was in the previous metro games but I sure as
well i'm the type that when i start playing a game i don't stop until i get all achievements. and i also do all side missions, even when doing Ranger Hardcore and Iron Mode lol can't help it, i love exploring apocalyptic worlds and sniping/stealth killing people. which is why i had to skip Caspian after the game crashed a few times. that freakin' desert i must've replayed over 5 times. still love it though.
don't think it was a thing in previous Metro games but i can't be sure. i've spent 30h playing each 2033 and Last Light but spent over 77h on Exodus so all my memories of previous games got replaced by Exodus lol and i still have the last DLC to get through.
I thought of doing a full run but with how crash a happy it can be I just wanted to get it over and done with 2bh. Got it all to do again when I get to the enhanced edition at some point.
Yeah I would've thought I'd notice the ability to patch masks as I've done all the previous games + the redux versions etc.
Edit: Yeah its just a feature in Exodus patching a mask with a hole in it, I guess they realised that having to restart a entire level because your mask broke was a bit...
