might be a game crash event or system related errors.
in the past month I have had windows 11 hardware errors which were caused by the dec nvidia graphics driver update. wiping the driver and clean reinstalling stopped the hardware errors.
then tried to install a new program and discovered visual c++ redistributable 2015 x64 was damaged and needed repair.
one should check for system errors.
windows and my nvidia driver worked fine from the nvidia update in early dec until new years. then I started getting windows hardware errors
I believe this game uses Visual C++ Redistributable 2017 and directx jun 2010 according to this web site
https://steamdb.info/app/412020/depots/
go to folder
c:\users\YourWIndowsLogin\Saved Games\Metro Exodus\very large number-name
delete or rename user.cfg
try the game again. maybe a setting or the file is corrupt
you have an nvidia card. use the nvidia app and optimize the game with that then try the game again. maybe the nvidia settings work better than the ones the game thinks you should have.
type in reliability in windows search. view reliability history should be first choice.
the red x's and yellow marks may be related issues.
without an error msg, crashing could be windows, bad libraries, missing libraries, graphics settings, graphics driver, windows permissions
I believe windows 11 comes with libraries to run win 11. it does NOT come with all the older libraries that older games need. I had to run steam verify game files for all my games when moving from win 10 to 11.
on my win 11 24H2, when I recently tried to reinstall direct x jun 2010, it ran to completion.
since you reinstalled windows maybe check your windows system files.
open a command prompt with admin permission and run these commands
sfc /scannow
dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
(sfc scans and repairs Windows system files
dism fixes corrupt files in the Windows system image, use it when SFC can't repair files)
but doing that did NOT find the damaged Visual C++ Redistributable 2015
I’ve tried everything you’ve mentioned without much success, although I did notice something strange in the reliability history: "NoiseCancelingEngine" stopped working, coincidentally around the time of the crash. I’m not sure if it’s a consequence of the crash or if it was caused by the crash. Upon investigating, I found that it’s related to the Asus active noise canceling feature, but I don’t remember having it installed on my computer, and I can’t find it. The first formats of my PC were because Armoury Crate was messing with my PC with problems. I manually uninstalled it when I realized it was the problem, but it’s possible that there are leftover drivers or folders that are still causing the issues.
I’ve also tried these things, without much success. Still, thank you very much for suggesting possible solutions.
Yes but, I mean that, my windows must be broken or something. I can't acces notepad even reinstalling it, the directx problem I said, problems with things like .rar even with winrar... Something must be wrong in general:(
