I have both versions, played the original back in the day but it kept crashing on my GTX1080 and then a save got corrupted.
So I'm contemplating which version to give a go now
ryzen 5 3600 with 64gb ram. If it turns out to be too weak, I can try it on a 14 core/28 thread xeon. Although apparently ryzen 5 3600 is 153% better than the recommended cpu
Once you start playing with AI models of various kinds, gaming hardware demands seem quaint.
And since you get both versions anyway, so just test which one you like better.
The game looks good, but it's not rocket science to play it. It runs great on my ~2017 PC with an RTX 2070 Armor and an i7-8700K. (The enhanced!) 2k, 60fps, rt high, DLSS balanced, etc... - Of course you can also use performance on 4K 8K etc..
It is easy to finetune the settings when you have your first stop with the train because you usually notice the effect on the hardware immediately, because of the fires, the light, the weather. There is almost everything at the bridge.
Depending on the level, there is still plenty of backup performance for higher options but i'm fine with it.
So far, both of them are bug-free for me or all three including the console (nothing is really bug-free, but there are only some minor cosmetic bugs for me.) At most, Aljoscha is sitting in the table again instead of at the table. No crashes, no corrupt saves or whatever. Otherwise, you might see something flickering in the distance in the sea until you change your viewing angle slightly. But nothing that affects the gameplay.
