The Russian voice acting is kind of bad

Everywhere I look people just say how immersive it is to play in Russian. Is it just because people don't actually understand what is being said?

I find the acting to be a bit too theatrical at times sometimes it's somewhat stiff and overacted.

Sure the English has the silly Russian Accent thing going on, but In general I think English voice direction in this game tends to be better. I guess I don't only have this issue with this game, but find Russian dubs in general to be a bit overacted and theatrical.

Yeah that's one of the reasons why I'm using the english audio cause I didn't like the russian voice acting.

As a 3 language speaker, the only reason i keep it in Russian is because i dont understand anything. I tend to play very slow and stealthy, so most of the time i hear the same dialogue of the npcs over and over again. It gets worse in the Taiga section of the game.

Learn German and try Metro Games with the language on, its fantastic, i love our voice actors so much in this genre.

Germany has a long history of dubbing foreign media so one would expect it to be good. But to be fair so does Russia so one would expect it to be true for Russian dubbing too, but it's somewhat of a hit and miss in general.
