Metro Exodus don't use Graphic card. Why?
I have a weird situation, i play the game on ultra settings without ray tracing all max ,FHD , vsync half . I using an intel core i7-8750h\ GTX 1080\ 16gigs memory\ win 10 laptop and when i play these settings it go quite well, but can sometimes drop fps a bit (from 60 to 50fps sometimes), but when i launched task manager while gaming it says CPU loading 40%, GPU loading 1%, memory 8.7gigs out of 16g.
If i change Vsync option for Full it becomes CPU usage 100%\ GPU 1%\ memory 8.9gigs and it gives something about 80 fps in most of the time and from 50 to 120fps depends on location and situation. And the question is.. Why it don't use the Graphic card at all? And if it will i think it would be stable 120 fps.
Anybody have an idea how to fix it?
P/s i bought it on Epic Store. But there is no any discussion platform.
Any answer would be pleasant

I get similar results but Task Manager doesn't give an accurate portrayal. Try something like HWiNFO for a better idea. You're not the first to ask this question, look here:

Plus laptops have additional considerations. Integrated vs dedicated and laptops habit of switching between. Power saving apps and utilities vs performance management etc.
There are a few similar threads on that link so have a read, and if you still have questions come back with your laptop model so that the more tech adventurous among us can dig deeper for you.

How to set a default graphics card

1 Open the Nvidia Control Panel. ...
2 Select Manage 3D Settings under 3D Settings.
3 Click on the Program Settings tab and select the program you want to choose a graphics card for from the drop down list.

So.. let me get this straight. Does that mean a laptop with an Intel CPU, irregardless of manufacturer (Lenovo, Hitachi etc) will 9/10 have an on-board Intel GPU? Interesting.

So OP, I haven't used a laptop in years but if your laptop also has an integrated GPU I'd suggest that you do as @Xeno suggests and ensure the BIOS is using the dedicated 'only'. Next step would be @Draven's point, be sure the OS and various apps / utilities are also working 'correctly'.

I have 2 Win 10 gaming laptops one i7 6700 w/ GTX 970 the other i5 9600 w/ GTX 1060, this worked on both of them.

Sorry mate, CPU is integrated GPU processor 'capable', not factual.

Spec sheets for a piece of hardware are factual. Because a piece of hardware 'can' do something doesn't make it actual unless the 'additional' hardware supports it.

GPU Type: Intel UHD 630
Graphics tier: GT2
Microarchitecture: Gen 9 LP
Base frequency (MHz): 350
Maximum frequency (MHz): 1100

That's the integrated graphics that the cpu is designed to run. Which is on the motherboard.

Me neither and you weren't in error. All I meant was, because the cpu 'supports' integrated doesn't mean 'in this case' it's using it. But as you said, without laptop model # we're chasing our tails. (ie. my cpu 'supports' integrated but my mobo doesn't)

You're right, "The default one (Intel HD) is part of the CPU package (APU),..". (Tom'sGuide)
They come together as a 'package' deal.

Not clearly understand, should i just add the game in the list? I added and selected Metro Exodus in the list, but nothing changed.

Tried the HWiNFO and it seems like GPU is loading while playing according to temperature changing and voltage and other specs MAXes changing, but for some reason totally not shows its work in Windows Task Manager.

Then i tried to change DirectX 12 to 11 and Windows Task Manager started to show the loading properly. 100% CPU, 100%GPU, 10GB of 16
Framerate is quite the same. Maybe 5% faster at the first look.
Maybe it is because of DirectX 12 not proper work or Windows Task Manager is far from ideal work.

Actually modern processors are have integrated GPUs and i remember the time when my aunt bought quite a cheap laptop about 3-4 years ago with only CPU integrated graphics on it and it could even run Burnout Paradise City. And i never heard about it would be optional.

And my Laptop: MSI GT63 Titan 8RG

Intel Core i7-8750H
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 [MSI]
DDR4-2666 / PC4-21300 DDR4 SDRAM SO-DIMM 16GB (2x8GB)
External HDD Drive: WDC WD20NMVW-11EDZS6 (WD-WXA1AB7739KT) 2TB
System NVMe SSD Drive: SAMSUNG MZVLW256HEHP-00000 (S33VNA0K340968)
Microsoft Windows 10 Home (x64) Build 18363.959 (1909/November 2019 Update)
