Stuck in the Beginning.

I am stuck in the beginning. I have two shots in my weapon and once they are gone it is melee and then an inglorius death over and over again.

There has got to be a way out of this.

when you jump down from that train carriage? run straight across to the door and open it. those monsters will keep spawning. don't try to fight them. escape. it's just the 'intro'.
edit: there is ammo to be found in the first large area you come to where you encounter your first monsters.

What level? Rarely are you forced to fight enemies.

Level 1. I haven't been able to find any ammo. I tried to sneak past with flashlight off but that did not work. I know they did not make this impossible to get through.

when you climb down the ladder and start the game you pass through a few corridors before coming to the first large open area. there is ammo on a body in a corridor. first large area when you have a scripted attack and then two watchmen arrive? ammo everywhere. on that table with the Note is one place. you only need 3 shells to get through that part.

I got through it and never found any ammo.

I waited till two of them got to point blank range and fired so I would not miss and dealt with the other two in melee.

I got 3000+ hours playing this type of game and went through the area with a fine tooth comb before combat. I kept telling myself they cannot be sending me down here with only two rounds. Even after I dealt with the creatures I did not find anything. But by then I just wanted out of the place and wasn't spending much time hunting for ammo.

ok. yeah it's a situation where you'll come to recognise where and what to look for after awhile. just walk up close to potential pickups and you'll get an 'interact' cue. good luck.

The only pickup cues I have seen are turn the lights on off, pick up a postcard, bend down, climb, open door,...

ahh.. unfort there is an 'interact' bug. i don't know if this applies to you but plenty of others have experienced it and i've seen it too. there is no fix for this besides load a save or restart the chapter or 'game'. just out of curiosity? have you disabled the 'cloud save' for that game? if you haven't? you should. it's bugged. it can effect performance and can lose progress too.

I am playing a free copy I got on Epic... Not the Steam version. I have played part of it before "opening session" but it has been awhile so I decided to restart from the beginning. I was wondering if the game had decided I had already picked up the items so it was not showing me anything.

ok.. f*cking EPIC. i have no idea about the parallels between these games bug wise. funnily enough, i don't know if 'cues' disappear after a pickup. isn't that strange? i've invested a lot of hours and remember next to nothing. wait.. maybe that's brain damage. okok.. but it is a possible.

They are running a sale so I picked up two Metro follow-ons cheaply which is why I decided to start playing the game.

You on ranger mode? There's no visual cues for pick-ups. Try reader difficulty but just watch out with the throwables...you'll see what I mean soon enough.

Easy mode. I have bad hands with no fine movement skills so I need a handicap you might say.
