FIXING Glitch, lag, audio, loop and other bugs.

Hello all,

I started having issues with the game right out of the gate.

MY FIX: Verify your local game files.

Right click the game in your library > properties > local files > Verify integrity game files.
Takes a few minutes. I have no problems anymore.


Long version: I've had issues like this with other games, and with older builds of my PC. Games that tend to have very large game files seems to be the connection for me personally. If you don't know, the verification of integrity is the programmers equivalent of "Unplugging it, and plugging it back in". Your comp basically combs through the game files and makes sure everything is in the right place, almost like forcing a patch without really adding any new files.

Some of the problems I was experiencing included brief lag and seizing, audio cut outs and looping of motions within the characters. The game even crashed a few times and cut me back to my Steam Library. I remembered this worked with some other games I ran like Red Dead, witcher 3 and some of the Civ games. When I ran the verification on METRO however, I found over 2GBs worth of data that couldn't be verified. IF this happens your steam should automatically start a new download to add in the data that couldn't be verified. (This is the kinda patch). After doing this I can now give the game a 11/10 rating.

sounds like a 'disk check' might be needed on your rig. checked your 'partitions' lately? drives dropping data is likely 'partition integrity' or a failing drive.

Didn't fix my issue, you'd think after beta testing this crap on Epic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ even tho this was always a Steam game, they would fix issues like this. I am stuck in an infinite loop of a monster walking around. Probably the only save will be reloading the game before it occurred, I think I also have a broken animation that comes with this, you can see it when you sometimes look around, there is like a monster that appears but it's not there.
