Wow, Can't believe it gets a favorable rating.
2 hrs in, it's buggy, glitchy and ugly. Enemy AI is anything but, it's like crap from a 20 year old game. Couldn't start the game normally, had to start in safe mode, should have known what to expect right there. Remaped keys to match my normal layout but not everything is following. I'm now to a point where a mutant jumps out and you have to hit a certain key, and it says the key I have mapped, but it never works and I just get killed over and over. Add the cut scenes that are worse than a third world soap opera, and I uninstalled it. Got it for like 9.99, if I paid 10 I would have been even more pizzed. Now I have to see if I can get the junk out of my steam library, it's stinking the place up.

You don't expect all people to encounter the bugs and glitches you did or have the same opinion do you...? Definitely deserved my positive review.

I had the same issue with the mutant jumping out and a prompt to hit the key I had assigned to that action didn't work. I changed the key back to the default to get pass that mutant and then changed the key back to what I wanted. There has been several times the key binding system failed and has been reported by other players.

Can't argue with the glitches and bugs, but I really disagree with ugly. It has a great dark post nuclear war atmosphere no other game I know can match. Maybe heavily modded Stalker, like Anomaly.

What difficulty? I am playing exclusively on ranger hardcore and one mistake can mean death as the NPCs are deadly and can kill you in less than a second. But maybe I just suck.

For me it's on the same key as my use key - e. Fortunately, the keys I rebind don't cause issues.

So edgy. Don't cut yourself. I had some glitches, but nothing game breaking. The most annoying glitch is when you open the map in the car and it breaks the camera, fortunately you can fix it by opening it and closing it again while holding W or leaving and reentering the car. (still bugs me they didn't fix it since launch tho) And the cut scenes probably sound much better in Russian.

There is a reason this game is rated better than crap post apocalyptic games like Fallout 4, tho that's supposed to be an RPG. I had more fun "roleplaying" as Artyom as there are moral choices that affect how the game ends, like in every Metro game. Metro games on ranger hardcore offer experience like no other FPS/light RPG game I can think of, outside of Stalker and that's from the same devs back when they were part of GSC Game World.

But in the end, no game is for everyone. I think the 8€ I paid for it were a great deal since I will probably end up playing the game for at least 300hs as it's much better than Metro 2033 that I played for about 150hs.

You have to press this button again and again very quickly with your finger like a savage, it doesn't work just by holding it. You will also see a loading circle around the name of your button on the screen, which shows the progress when you tap it. When the circle is completely closed, the mutant is finished and gets a knife in the neck.

actually, you can set the QTE key/button to tap repeatedly, hold or press once in the game settings.

Really ? Thanks for the advice, I'm brand new to the game myself :-)

Yup. It's an unoptimized console game that was evidently ported over by complete amateurs. I've avoided it because of the nightmare of rebinding glitches that break the game. I've been following this saga for like four years and the devs don't realize or care that not everyone uses WASD. The incompetence is shocking. This is a kind of negligence I wouldn't even let an indie project get away with.

Nah, the OP has a point. I can see how a person who never changes default controls might not care, but this series always had a horrible cutscene-bloat issue. Last Light and 2033 feel less like STALKER than they do CoD WWII or Wolfenstein The New Colossus.

From my experience... game always suggest safe mode after it crashes. And I'm betting he end task it when the button prompt didn't work, cause he was pressing and not tapping. That's just a guess, though. But.. when I rage... I do the same type of stuff.. as in... boy do I hate the new Xcom games..... Alt F4 all the time to defeat the autosave system. Though with these Russian games.... Window keycombos don't seem to work unless you go into Steam Interface first.

I agree that it has bugs and glitches but what are they and how often did you get them? Most I got was the game crashing twice on the Caspian, and the camera breaking when opening the map driving a car (Also the Caspian). Other than that, I never had an issue.

I also strongly disagree that this games looks "ugly." IMO it looks amazing and beautiful, the immersion is really easy to get sucked in and the gameplay really adds to it. It feels like I am actually exploring a post-apocalyptic, dying or near dead world and its inhabitants. Does it way better than other games, like the Fallout series and I enjoy those games as much as I do this one.

Definitely. When I played this game a year after release it was, on my previous laptop which was already 1-2 years out of date but even that was still able to play this game without much issue minus the Caspian stuff.

About to go to the Terminal and only encountered 1 bug. Your profile is private, I bet you loved Witcher 3.
