Ukrainian Developer?

Confused, is this game made by Ukrainians? As far as I can tell it was made by the Deep Silver(sub of Plaion(sub of Embracer Group (formerly Nordic Games Licensing AB and THQ Nordic AB)) which is ultimately a Swedish Game Developer?
Also, by buying the game how do we support Ukrainians exactly? Don't all the profits from older games go directly to the owner?
Happy to buy it, but honestly not on my wishlist, I probably would only buy it if there was some actual benefit to a Ukrainian..

there's a good backstory if you like human strife and the overcoming of -- well, life, to have a... well, different life. Prov and a couple others from GSC and the STALKER days, carved out a niche for Metro and 4A... some say poached Sergi's staff in an 'ungrateful bastard" mov, others say Serg was the only one making a good living, actually getting rich and collecting fancy cars while the rest struggled to pay bills, so it was easy to recruit... who knows? I wasn't there... Fast forward to about 15 years ago, who saw the writing on the lighting company chandeliers (the new but now old shop) and packed up their families to head off to Malta to avoid a certain crazy Russian leader trying to annex his neighbor... fast forward a few years, here we are again.

You should buy the game because it's fun to play, but if you want to know if the Ukrainian thing is true, it definitely is. As for does THQ etc give all the proceeds away? Again who knows I don't work there.

Sadly it's probably not a bot, just general xenophobia towards 'non-ukrainians' due to a war they didn't want in the first place and have no control over. It's very popular recently due to NATO ramping up it's war machine again and putin being his usual asshat self.

Where the devs live quite literally doesn't matter in this regard, unless they were openly advocating for genocide or something. Which, if OP even bothered to look into the game series, would know that is not the case.
