Should I play Last Light before Exodus?

I played Metro 2033 because it was for free in March 2021, it took me a lot tries to finish the game, but I managed to finish it at the end of 2021 and it was pretty cool game, but story was confusing yet pretty interesting.
Now after finishing Uncharted 4 I think I'm gonna retry Exodus, but I didn't get to play Last Light, and I heard that locations and overall game looks less low budget than Metro 2033 and is overall even better in some aspects than AAA games from 2013.
So, should I try redux version? I'm not sure because Metro storyline is still pretty confusing and I don't know what is happening actually because Arthur is going to one location where people are nice to him and then want to kill him and then other people save him because yes

Definitely play Last Light.

For a start, play Metro 2033 after Last Light, And AFTER, play Metro Exodus.

if you enjoy the story and setting of the metro, last light expands on the world underground where as exodus takes artyom into the wider world and alot of the underground is in the past so to speak. the start of exodus has some lore that both the earlier games help understand but its very brief so if your worry is missing big story elements between the games you wont miss alot.

if the story is confusing then last light might expand on that confusion though. If you want a story breakdown they are more simple then they seem.

If you like the games but find the story confusing then reading the books might help.
But the games stories are pretty straight forward. Game1; Artyom and friends fight mutants. Game2; Arthur and friends fight Factions. Game3; Arty and gang fight the world.
As for your dilemma, you own 2 of the 3 games and you've played 1 of them, play Exodus next, it's not as though playing them out of order will change your life.

I say play them all in order, at least twice.

Play the ORIGINAL 2033 first, then LL, then exodus. Although you will be increasingly disappointed as you progress however

You're missing out a lot if you don't play these in release order. Moscow has a totally unique atmosphere that is not in this game.

play all three as a single experience on ranger hardcore mode, you wont regret it.
