Some users are reporting that rebinding actually broke the rebind system, and they cant even reset to default keybindings now.
:(
I have no idea about a controller, as I dont use one.
But, I guess if you use THEIR keybindings its not bad. I had very sludgy mouse/kb for the 1st intro, but after that in the main mission, after a reboot, it worked well.
I don't get the same latency in other games, maybe it's just because of the animation feeling slow too. When you swing your camera, Artyom actually swings his gun around rather than it just moving perfectly with your cursor like in most games. Probably feels slower than PC because of it being a controller, low sensitivity even on max, and FPS as you mentioned too.
Or maybe I'm just spoiled by precise aiming on PC.
I play the game at 4k30fps with a controller and it has been a smooth experience so far. High input lag, fps drops and irregular frame pacing are things that I no longer have to get frustrated/disappointed over.
Although, the only gripe I have with pc gaming is that it took a long time to figure out the right combination of settings/programs to get this kind of experience out of my setup.
LOL
The EXACT opposite of what PC gaming is about.
NO pc gamer is trying to make his PC play like a CONSOLE.
***rollseyes***
PC gaming is about playing the way you want to play
And, if he WANTS to game on a console, WHY make an expensive PC into a CONSOLE game?
If the shoe dont fit, you must aquit! :P
What on earth are you on about. I also play my PC like a console. It’s connected to a massive 4K TV and I sit on the couch and play using a pad.
I don’t use a console because I like to play at higher resolutions, higher frame rates and better graphics.
I was seriously wondering why someone would make their pc into a console.
But I DO get it now.
So, the consoles are STILL not powerful enough (even the Xbox One X) to play games at 4k?
I thought that the 1x WAS powerful enough.
Thats why I didnt know why anyone would buy a super high end rig for 2-3k, instead of like 500?
But I TOTALLY get wanting higher frames and better graphics, and smoother gameplay. Heck, thats what I like in a pc, and why I adopt early, like in 2560x1440 27" monitor at 120hz. I cant game at low resolution like 1920x1080, it gives me a migraine.
But, I REALLY do get it now (sometimes it just takes someone to explain something rather than just saying 'I do it' ).
I have seen RDR2 on the 1x though, and played a bit of it, @4k, and it was actually VERY smooth. The console seems to work on TV;s pretty darn well, but yeah, at 30fps.
There's no choice in consoles. Yes the X can play a lot of games at 4K 30fps. But I might want to play at 1440p 60 fps, or play using settings the X doesn't support.
On a console, for the most part you play a game the way it is given to you, not the way you want to play it.
Would you say an amd 8350 8 core 4.0ghz cpu, with 32gb memory, a titan X (maxwell) video card, and a controller be able to play games on a 4k tv (30fps only, not a 60fps tv) 65 inch?
You have me thinking my old system may be used in the bedroom now.
:)
Probably, CPU is a bit of a weak link though.
The idea is to have a couch gaming experience in front of a TV with a controller in hand. 30 FPS is no 60, sure, but if the person wants to play at 4K on max settings and can't reach 60 with it, I understand that often capping it at 30 provides a smoother experience than the constant shifting between, say, 35 and 50.
See this is why I call elitism. Not to offend you but because it is. The notion of 'PC gaming = high FPS' claims makes no sense. It's the assumption that ALL PC gamers have rigs that can do modern titles at 60+ FPS, or that anyone who can't reach 60 will always choose to lower settings.
When Crysis came out, I beat the whole game at 25-30FPS. Motion Blur helped and it wasn't that bad, was worth it at the time due to the amazing graphics.
Most of my BF3 playtime was at 45 FPS which was totally fine for me as long as I could keep textures, effects and shadows on ultra, because I wanted awesome visuals.
Like I said, it's not about 'downgrading your PC to a console', but about having the best experience you WANT to have given the hardware you can afford. That's what PC gaming is, not all ultrawide monitors and 5xSSAA @120 FPS.
And what's that with FullHD giving you migrane? You must have had a terrible time gaming before around 2015-2016, not to metnion the 720p era, the pre-HD 4:3 1024x768 standard and, god forbid, 800x600, 640x480 etc. It still boot up the original Quake from time to time using the latter resolution out of nostalgia. My head doesn't explode and neither would yours.
Same goes for FPS. I have a 2560x1440 144Hz G-sync monitor. Yes it's great. Yet when I feel like couch gaming, I turn on my FullHD TV and play at 60 FPS without issue.
It's all in your head mate.
