Metro Exodus Crash to Desktop

I tried to start Metro Exodus fron epic games but after the first intro it crashes and showsa desktop ,i can't even get to the games menu help pls

Same here, says launch wasnt good and asks if I wanna launch in safe mode. Crashes still.

Same here, a *fix* for me is to go to the GeForce Control Panel and force it to run integrated graphics and boot in safe mode. That way you can access the menu and fiddle with settings. But, you'll literally still crash using a normal graphics card. Or, you can play in potato mode

yes i tried with integrated and it runs but with nvidia not same probleme

Hey Guys so I managed to fix the problem after long experiments...
Solutions for Problems:
- If the game won't start just crash to the desktop at launch remove the next intro video files called
credits.webm
intro.webm
legal.webm
- After this if the game by some reason gets stuck a the menu during startup need to switch to dx11 and you can play, if you want to use with dx12 you need to do 2 things....uninstall geforce experience and after that go to C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Ansel\Tools\NVCameraConfiguration.exe start it and in the bottom select disable.

Do this and now your game will work perfectly without any crash with dx12 enabled and all max.

My System:
Macbook Pro 15 Bootcamp + eGPU
Intel i7 7820HQ
16GB Ram
dGPU Radeon 560
eGPU Aorus Gaming Box GTX 1080
Windows 10 64bit Enterprise N 1903 build 18323
Nvidia latest driver 419.17

Bonjour à tous,

Solution pour ceux qui ont un retour bureau immédiat après le lancement du jeux (pendant intro ou autres ..)
[W10] rechercher cmd dans la loupe, faites un clique droit sur invide de commande et lancez le en administrateur.

Tapez les deux commandes ci-dessous :

sc config winmgmt start= disabled
net stop winmgmt

Testez le lancement du jeux. Pour moi cela fonctionne.

Relancer le service WMI une fois le jeux terminé

sc config winmgmt start= auto

Je ne pourrais expliquer ce qui interfère avec ce service, mais c'est la raison du crash immédiat après lancement du jeux.

Same here, still no solution. It can run with integrated gpu without any issue. But as soon as i switch to nvidia,it crashes on startup to desktop.

i fixed it by disabling every software monitor tool like RTTS and Nvidia GE and fraps everything OFF so no monitor tools,, and the game started you can then alt - tab out of the game and switch them on

I FOUND A FIX! hopefully it works for you

go to nvidia control panel / manage 3D settings / select program settings / click ADD and browse the game launcher / in option 2 select : Integrated graphics / apply and launch the game hopefully it works for you it worked for me !
