Night vision!!??

How do I get the night vision to work? I got it installed but when I press "N" nothing happens. All i get is the symbol of the night vision briflely flashing in the bottom of the screen. Do I need batteries or something?

You need to find night vision goggles first. Then when you press N you will wear them. While wearing them you can switch them on or off with the F key.

That symbol means you don't have them yet. The same with binoculars.

Sorry, that doesnt work. Im in the desert and all i get is the icon flashing brifley

NVGs use the same battery as the flashlight - it runs on dynamo. If you run out of juice you need to hold F untill Artyom pulls out the charger and then "pump" it with LMB. When you charge it it should work.

Sounds like he ran out of battery. Hold F to pull the dynamo up.

I have full power. The headlamp works just fine but not the night vision. Damd, lol.

Mine stopped working in the forest arena even when i have my backpack back.

You need to find them again. Just follow the compass and you will get it back.

Ehm, well that mey be true but it doesnt work for me. Never got the goggles to work.

I've got the exact same problem. I have them equipped via the crafting, but hitting N does nothing , just blinks the icon.

I had the same problem with STEAM version 1.0.0.5. I found the nightvision first in the tower at the lower right corner of the map of Caspian desert. That didn't work for me at all. Then I found it again in the command room of the satellite bunker. Same map, same play throug. Since that it works, and this second time I also had the animation when Artyom put this on his helmet. Hope this helps. :D

I think the first "finding" was not really the night vision, it was just a selectable light upgrade, that I don't know what does. Anyway it works after the command room of the bunker.
