I been wondering how many copy's they sold so far.
I've just looked on the Metro exodus store page, scrolled down to customer reviews, purchase type, currently there are 1641 steam purchasers and on other 463 which might not be entirely from the Epic store, could be reviewers and other sources.

I wonder how many sales they would have had by now if we could have all just brought from steam on 15th Feb 2019. These numbers are low for such a high level game.

Compared to far cry 500.000 sales in a week or middle earth shadow of war same sales in a week https://comicbook.com/gaming/2018/04/03/far-cry-5-half-a-million-copies-sold-steam-ubisoft/
https://twinfinite.net/2017/10/middle-earth-shadow-of-war-sold-almost-400000-copies-on-steam/
or resident evil 2 remake 2 millions sales in 2 weeks http://steamspy.com/app/883710

e.t.c. Metro would had sold as much as these or even more but now it sells less due to not on steam...... you see deep silver what you done? but epic said they willl pay them more to repalce lost sales money if game dont sell well.

No one cares for consoles on here. They are still at a massive loss on pc, they still lose out on sales. it's their own fault.

You can estimate total steam sales by multiplying number of reviews x ~70-80.
For example, 1000 reviews give us total ~70k copies activated (some were purchased offline, some in Steam, some were given away for free).

More 11000 if you go by what steam spy says. Other games in comparison with reviews are way more. The majority are sensible and don't pre order.

the majority of sales now is on Epic store due the fact that the game isn't avalible for purchase in Steam anymore so you can never tell ....

the game is amazing so i think it gonna sell very well despite not being avalibe in Steam.

One could argue that they signed the deal primarily for the guaranteed revenue.
Which to me indicated they didn't believe in their own game for some reason.
That alone was reason enough for me to pass on it for now.

I can only speculate of course but the argument is somewhat reinforced considering the buggy state they've released it in on all platforms.

600 million pre-orders on Steam...They ain`t gonna release those type of figures.

Surely Deep Silver care, consoles still generated huge profit that make a lot of game company willing to dumb down their game just so they can fit it in tiny cheap 300$ underpower consoles box.sure it is a worst version and 30 fps BS but we talking about $$$ they got here.

remember one of 4A Games said they won't make anymore PC version of Metro if boycott happen? they didn't seem care much about us PC gamer and knowing you guy gonna buy this game in 2020 anyway so they didn't lose anything plus got a ton of money from EPIC.

Pretty Win-Win for them.

It's not true, comparatively Metro Exodus is not a buggy, and about the reception in the press Exodus humiliates its closest competition Far Cry New Dawn vel Far Cry 5 vel copy&pase x fortnite.

But yes, consumers are mostly like sheep. What sells mostly are games intended for casuals, multiplayer, with massive budgets for marketing and very established franchises. Metro Exodus although it is much better game will sell worse than Far Cry, but not because it is not in steam (because the same would happen if it would be available in steam), but because for the consumer market franchise far cry / ubisoft is like mcdonald hamburger, while metro is like a restaurant that is next to your house and that makes excellent burgers but that nobody who does not pass through the neighborhood does not know it.

metro games have always sold more than double the copies of both consoles combined.

What is not true?

Do what I did and spend some hours going through various forums, comments and reviews and you'll see the game drowning in negative reviews and feedback across all platforms about inconsistent/poor performance, crashes and a long list of bugs. Even the positive reviews talks about it.

1. RE2 didn't had epic crap copies.
2. Those peak estimates aren't accurate.
Personally I think the game will be an epic fail in total revenues/expenses (except chinese bribes from epic launcher).
