REshade working for anyone?
I can't seem to get Reshade to run for some reason. Has anyone successfully loaded it or are willing to try to see if they can get it to load?

Because if someone else can than its probably my end.

update:

I know it doesn't work w/ dx12. But it also ONLY works w/ DX11 if you change the name of the file DXGI.dll to D3D11.dll. And even then it only loads, but i can't access the in game menu w/o alt tabbing out, typing text into the windows search bar, then alt tabbing back in. Then the menu loads.

So beyond this, it seems to work fine. YOu can indirectly get it to load by modifying the INI files location in reshade.ini and loading a preset, but the "alt tab" fix seems to work too. And this isn't necessarily confirmed either. It only works for me. It may not for everyone else.

I use the latest version. But this would probably work with almost any.

Not sure about the blur you're experiencing. The blur i had was TAA for sure. Can you post a screenshot of the blur?

How are people getting Reshade to work? When I have it at the default dxgi.dll it crashes the game. If I change it to d3d11.dll the reshade menu doesn't show up. Also, for some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason the game has different settings if you launch it through the Epic games store versus launching it through the executable in Program Files/Epic Games. WTF? This means editing the config file to put it in windowed mode won't affect directly opening it through MetroExodus.exe which means to put it in Windowed mode I have to use Geforce Experience, and I assume directly opening MetroExodus.exe is necessary to get Reshade to work properly. OMGOMGOMG. What the hell is wrong with Epic Games? Yes, I have the game set to DirectX 11. The sharpen filter on Geforce Experience isn't good enough for me(plus it causes a drop of 15 frames per second), I need Reshade's luma sharpen. It was bad enough that ultra-wide screen doesn't work properly, but if I can't get Reshade to work properly I'm returning this game, provided all the messing around I did with it didn't put me over the 2 hour limit. OH BTW THEY DISABLED THAT THE FEATURE LETTING YOU SEE HOW LONG YOU PLAYED BECAUSE IT WAS "STRAINING THEIR SERVERS". AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! Epic Games can kiss my ass.

2 user CFG files created depending on where you open the game from.

They both work.

EPIC CFG: saved games/metroexodus
.EXE open: saved games

So just go back one directory and you'll get the saved game file created by metro exodus if you open via the EXE file.

Hope this helps

Change to Dx11 in the in-game menu settings

My solution to fix brightness gamma problem or load preset.
I can't still load the reshade menu but i change dxgi.dll name for d3d11.dll to load reshade and use https://www.nexusmods.com/metroexodus/mods/6. You can change in ReShade.ini line to PresetFiles=D:\Games\Metro Exodus\Better Colors reshade.ini

Edit: After alt+tab and back to the game menu work on "HOME" Button.

My reshade ini file:

[GENERAL] ScreenshotIncludePreset=0 EffectSearchPaths=.\reshade-shaders\Shaders TextureSearchPaths=.\reshade-shaders\Textures PerformanceMode=0 PresetSearchPaths=.\ ClockFormat=0 ScreenshotPath=D:\games\Metro Exodus PreprocessorDefinitions=RESHADE_DEPTH_LINEARIZATION_FAR_PLANE=1000.0,RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_UPSIDE_DOWN=0,RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_REVERSED=1,RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_LOGARITHMIC=0 CurrentPreset=0 PresetFiles=D:\games\Metro Exodus\Better Colors reshade.ini ScreenshotFormat=0 NoReloadOnInit=0 ShowFrameTime=0 ShowClock=0 ShowFPS=1 SaveWindowState=0 TutorialProgress=4 NewVariableUI=0 [INPUT] KeyScreenshot=44,0,0,0 InputProcessing=2 KeyReload=0,0,0,0 KeyEffects=0,0,0,0 KeyMenu=36,0,0,0 [DX11_BUFFER_DETECTION] DepthBufferRetrievalMode=0 DepthBufferTextureFormat=0 ExtendedDepthBufferDetection=0 DepthBufferClearingNumber=0 [STYLE] Alpha=1.000000 GrabRounding=0.000000 FrameRounding=0.000000 FPSScale=1.000000 ChildRounding=0.000000 PopupRounding=0.000000 WindowRounding=0.000000 ScrollbarRounding=0.000000 TabRounding=4.000000 ColFPSText=1.000000,1.000000,0.784314,1.000000 EditorStyleIndex=0 Font= FontSize=13 EditorFont= EditorFontSize=13 StyleIndex=2

Ill add a few things here:

Change the CurrentPreset variable to 1, and after the game loads, alt tab, type any text in the windows search box, then switch back to the game. Then its responsive, the menu opens and you can edit it in game. There is some strange focus issue that prevents the menu from loading for me.

Let me know if this works for anyone else.

I know it only works w/ DX 11. It wasn't loading even w/ DX11. Ill add that to the OP so people are more clear about what the issue is.

install reshade
select the effects you want
close
enter game, press home
activate and change values in effects,
go to settings set a key to toggle effect
that is all

It doesn't work for me though. DX10, DX9, or OPENGL wont work alone. You have to change the name of the dx10+ install to D3D11.dll to get it to work for some people. It might work out of the box for some aswell.

And even then, for me, i can't access the in game menu to set the toggle key until i do the alt tab fix i mentioned in the OP.

If you have trouble with getting reshade to work remember to download reshade shaders and textures (there will be a popup asking about this). Without them you won't be able to load any preset.

For me dxgi.dll works well.

I had the same problem with my Epic Launcher before I came across a thread where the solution, or a workaround, resided.

You just install the newest reshade as normal and then change the files named "rxgi" to d3d11 to get the game started. When game starts you should see the "reshade installed successfully etc" on top of your screen, and here's the easy trick to get it working, just ALT + TAB out of the game and go into the microsoft search bar and write anything, then just press ESC and go back into the game again. Then press HOME and the menus and everything should work as normal.
Cheers

Works fine with the latest ReShade 4.5.4 and game v1.0.1.6.

The only thing you have to do is to rename DXGI.DLL to D3D12.DLL (If you are using DX12) or D3D11.DLL (if you prefer DX11).

Works even with RTX enabled.
