Borderless/Windowed

is there any way to change the resolution to windowed mode or borderless windowed?

On W10 go to "C:\Users\User\Saved Games\metro exodus\", or just go to users and Search exodus.
Open User.cfg file, Change r_fullscreen on to r_fullscreen off

It fits weird on the screen after that, b ut it's what you wanted.. Hope it helped you...

After what he said, open your "Task Manager" or ctrl + alt + delete buttons. Click on the process tab at the top right corner. Find Metro Exodus. click the down arrow, Right click on "4A Engine" select Maximize. it will now change to a borderless windows mode. hope that helps!

Okay, I did this, it's in "r_fullscreen off" with Borderless Gaming running, 4Aengine up, and when I alt-tab, it still minimizes/disappears until I alt-tab back in, same as it does in full-screen. Any ideas?

Edit: This was only for the intro and menu screen, for some reason, once I load my game (continue), the loading screen with Artyom talking works like windowed borderless, and once the game loads, it acts like borderless (even if it acts weird on the transition, still shows, though)

Agreed, I was of the belief that Metro Exodus was a superb game almost devoid of faults, it warms my heart a little to know that even a great game can contain such a monumental fu ckup.

I'm able to change the game to "borderless windowed" mode but does anyone know how to change it to "Windowed" mode with the border so I can drag the window to the center of my screen? Otherwise it sits at the top left of my screen.
Any help will be appreciated.

I still use WinExplorer from 1999 to manually set borderless window and position, still works great on Win11 and perfect on my Samsung G9.
