Afterburner is far better than using Steam as it captures uncompressed image's.
oh shhhhhiz for real... imma try that
i did this, but launching the game from steam caused my save file to disappear. My save game only appears when i launch the game from the epic launcher.
Launching the game from the epic launcher gets rid the steam overlay.
managed to get the epic launcher to launch from steam, then i launched exodus, and there was no overlay :(
did that originally and it caused my save file to disaapear in the game

You can actually tell steam to save an uncompressed copy.
Settings> In-Game
Check "Save an uncompressed copy" somewhere on the right side.
but AB is a good choice...though game crashes for me when RTSS is started which starts with AB...
Need it for other games. Also forgot you can add the exe and tell it to ignore xD
Get used to it, lots more will swap to steam now cause you buy it anyway.
