You added on "you probably haven't even played the game yet".
No because I never tried skipping any scene except for the scene at the games launch. Look at my Metro:Exodus Achievements lol.
Anywho, I too would like to skip a lot of cutscenes, as this is my 2nd playthrough and I don't like to sit through repetitive dialogue sometimes and I wish I could just get up and move on. I already know what they're going to say so why even sit through the whole thing? Sometimes I do want to listen, sometimes I don't. My first playthrough I listened to A LOT of dialogue. It was very enjoyable, but playing through over and over with the same dialogue and what not can get annoying.
Also too have an way to just skip the train parts (like just walking to the map and select move to the next level.)
I found this thread because I feel the exact same way. I have PLAYED the other Metro games and I enjoyed PLAYING them. You know that whenever the story takes over and shows you a scene, you are no longer PLAYING. Snaek wants to play a game. What a bizarre concept. AND he wants to PLAY this game. He likes it. He is NOT going to uninstall it. He likes story based games and most of them do not have this much mindless leading you around through the story with no input, or give you the option to skip. You guys should watch Bandersnatch. It's a movie that gives you choices throughout the story. Maybe you would like that better. Less work and less PLAYING.
The bottom line here is What does it matter to you if this guy wants to play the game without cut scenes? Why so hostile?
The thing that made the previous games different from other FPS games was that they did a VERY good job of introducing Artyom, the people in the tunnels, and other characters, to the point that gamers actuallly cared about Artyom and the NPC's.
Metro Exodus does NONE of this.
It throws you into the game just like any previous FPS games to Metro 2033.
In other words, its a sub-par game even compared to itself.
Its like the Max Payne games. 1 and 2 were VERY FPS heavy. In 3, they made the game a movie with interactive parts. Metro Exodus did this also. The 1st two games were very FPS centric, and Exodus is like an interactive movie.
Why WOULDNT a FPS fan want to skip (very bad) cut-scenes that happen every 30 seconds, to get to the heart of the gameplay: Fisrt Person Shooting.
Anyone else saying anything different is a shill for septic, or a complete moron, who hasnt played any video games except in the past 3 years.
Leave off the OP, because he wants to PLAY the game, not WATCH the game like you can for free on youtube.
MY EDIT, not the stupid dev/mods edit making it look like mine:
STOP attaching pieces of old posts, threads, etc into MY posts, making it look like I am on YOUR side, septic.
And, I am pretty sure it is against the STEAM RULES to cut up and copy/paste from any of my other posts and present them here like it is my own post.
FO ds and 4gay.
Can you give us the option to skip through cut-scenes?
They're so unnecessarily long.
Totally agree, I been through the game once, but going through all the cut scenes again totally puts me off, I would like to play the game and not sit and listen to a load of tripe for 70% of the game, if you remove all the cut scenes the game is only 45 mins to play, a bit of a rip off i would say
dude quiet man I would love a way to skip the cutscense especially when having to endure new game plus.
Its stupid.
also for anyone to say this game is played for the story your an idiot. The story is abysmal.
Voice acting is garbage. And I couldnt have been happier when my wife in the game died. So she would stop speaking.
Either way a way to skip many things would be nice. But hey i probably wont play it again anyways lmao
Actually you can skip them
They set the game up with a new game+ and multiple difficulty settings to keep on challenging yourself, but who in their right mind would want to listen to the badly written "plottwist" of anna coming down with a lung desease when you already know that youre going to the desert to free slaves and then on to a forest to find a bunch of schoolkids gone wild and then off to novosibirsk to watch miller die again. The whole point of replaying isnt to listen to the same storypieces again, but to try new gear and weapons, new paths and get a different ending.
This is just as much of a bad decision in development as it was to give artyom a voice in the loading screens and then never ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ use it ingame. Anyone defending this really needs to think about how it would feel to live the movie groundhogday because thats all it is.
Pain.
