Shading rate 100% 200% what it does?
As the title says? In the benchmark the extreme preset puts shading rate to 200% but in the game the extreme preset what actually does?

It dictates the internal render resolution of the game. 200% downscales from twice your output resolution.

Oh, so it's just a resolution thing?

I thought it's a game quality setting not just a simple resolution downscale.

It'll be the one biggest impacts on performance that you can tweak. I'd just keep it at 100% if i were you, as the game is hard enough to render at native resolutions...

According to PC Gamer
Shading Rate: This setting determines how many shaders are run per pixel, with 100 being the normal 1:1 ratio. It has a range of 0.4x-4.0x, with 0.5x being somewhat like 50 percent resolution scaling except only applied to pixels (not geometry or other elements), while 2.0 is sort of like 2x supersampling for shader calculations. This can have a significant impact on performance as well as visual quality. Setting this to 0.5x improves performance by 18-24 percent, while increasing this to 2.0x decreases performance 25-30 percent—I didn't even try maxing it out at 4.0x. Most people should leave this setting at 1.0, though the low preset in the benchmark utility sets it to 0.5.

"What it does?" Do you seriously speak that way? If you do,you must sound like a little child. In English, you would say, "What does it do?"
The dude came here to find answers not insults, grow up a little yourself..

This feature doesn't even work.. atleast on my end (with latest drivers bla, bla) Only DSR is accepted by the game, and shading rate can go below 1.0, but never above 1.0. Neither on DX12 or 11.

oh so to run the game smooth on my old display I put it on 0.7 with 1680x1040 (or so). My new display is qhd at 24". Does it mean, I actually have only 70% of the set resolution? Does this mean, it would be actually better, to put it on 1 and just lower the resolution? The change from 1680x1040 to qhd interestingly just made my pc a little louder.

Out of everything he said, you decide to go out of your way to comment on the lowest hanging fruit. In an attempt to belittle, you look the smallest.

Ironic im pretty sure you are the one who sounds childish by being so hostile over nothing, op came here for assistance about in game settings not for an English class.

FYI Everyone doesnt type/spell/speak perfect English even those who live in countries that use it as their main language.

If you see that as a problem and to try to downplay someone to a childish level like you did there you should just keep stuff like that to yourself and ask yourself why are you being overly hostile like that in the first place?

Damn... I had been looking for a solution to my "can't change resolution" problem for weeks, now. Turns out I always left this option in 0.4. Wonder why it didn't look sharp enough.

Check that HDR isn't turned on. If it's an option in-game. I can't remember. But I've had similar issues in other games, then noticed that HDR was turned on. Once I disabled it, everything was good.

I'm not being hostile at all. I was actually trying to be helpful. I actually appreciate it when people point out to me that I'm doing something incorrectly, or have a flaw in my reasoning, et cetera.

Perhaps I was a bit harsh, in retro-spec. But spending all day listening to people butcher your language, oft-times intentionally. it can grate on the nerves. So perhaps my demeanor had grown brash this day. My intention was not to be mean. But intention does not excuse the action. I know.
