PSA: How to skip intro movies

If you want to cut out the ~60 second ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t loading times when the game plays the intro movies, rename the following to anything but their current labels:

credits.webm
legal.webm

Located in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Metro Exodus

It'll load to the game menu within seconds.

Nope, the 'E' doesn't appear for a while, and pressing 'E' on the legal video does nothing.

I am using an SSD and there's a mandatory wait time before 'E' appears or becomes functional.

If you delete them, they won't even play, and you don't need to press anything.

back in 2033 and LL we just made a text file and renamed that to the name of the file, if deleting them stops working that should still work.

Nah, it doesn't work at all. Yes, I can skip the legal scene with the E key, there is no problem with that, and renaming the intro I can skip too, but I can't skip the freeze. After I skip the intro scene, Artyom starts narrate and whe he is finishing, then it freezes again. So this doesn't help at all, but thanks anyway.

P. S.: Isn't a way to run the game on windowed mode?

If you rename those two videos, it's impossible for the game to do anything with them. Any freeze is due to the time it takes for assets to load, like the menu. As for the rest of what you said, I have no idea what you are talking about.

I guess the game is loading the main menu while playing intro video. Sometime I got the skip button in the middle of introl, sometime I need to wait to the end, Idk why it took so long but it did.
And rename the video just give me black screen, it takes about the same time to enter the main menu, just replace the video to black screen.

I think the just too lazy to add the loading bar.

For me the initial animation before I can press E is like 10 seconds. I dont think we are playing the same game...

I mean, the game skips the intro, but Artyom starts to narrate like the previous games, as same as it starts this Metro 2033 Redux gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUUbIHeB-Zs

But it's weird, I've been watching Metro Exodus gameplays and there's nothing like that, just the first scene and the game starts. And I don't have that, idk why.

I’m on a HDD and can hold E the minute the logo comes up.

I renamed all them. First tried to play the game renaming the 3 movies, and after tried again renaming only the intro, wich is the only one that gives me that hard freeze.
