Crashing

I am in the Caspian, in the lighthouse (I believe?) and about after I get through the tunnel where all the people are burning n stuff, as soon as I get out onto the boat that goes upward as a ramp on the side of the cliff, my game hard crashes.

I have tried running DX11 and DX12, lower graphics, making sure my drivers are proper and updated... no luck.
I cannot leave the area, or make progress forward. I don't want to restart campaign because Time and also because I am afraid it will just happen again.

Anyone have this or know a solution?

This is happening to me too in the exact same location.

I do not have a solution yet. Gonna mess with it.

Running 1080TI ryzen 1800x. 16gb ram. I had switched it down to high quality from ultra but no difference made. Drivers updated as well.

Might be the end of my playthrough if I can't get it to work right.

I found this. Someone said starting in safe mode allowed him to get through that part without crashing. Gonna test it.

Safe mode didn't work me. Though i have another solution.
As soon as you leave the cave and go up over that boat wreck shoot like a mad man with a loud weapon. It seems to alert the AI and stop what's causing the crash. My game crashed once after i did that 20s later and the second time i did this i made it through the firefight afterwards.

I dont know whats going on with this game. Ive had more issues with this one title then most of my other games combined. Even trying to alt tab the game will freeze and have already had several crashes and its not taxing my rig at all.

Ditto, I've played for 10 hours over 3 days, the first 2, not a single problem at all, but today, when I started it, it said "some of your save files are corrupted" (but luckly not my latest save) and when I got to the bandit camp south of the lighthouse, it froze.

I have the game on Epic because Steam did not open shop until a few days ago. I played the game 3 times and the only crash I had is in Caspian Light House as well. I had no way of preventing it unless I enter safe mode. But after that, and with replays, I never did crash again. Maybe it only happens once. Don't know why thou

what does safe mod does i have the Caspian Light House hard crash too

You have to kill the bandits but without stealth, just shot the with gun. Kill everyone until you see the exit of the cave. DONT go outside! Now go to the menu and fast save. Then load the save and just fast run the out of the cave and go up non-stop and shot as soon as possible some bandits there. This worked for me. I tried so many ways!!

It worked but im still salty that this game have hard crash in it 1 years after release...

I had the same issue. I reinstalled game and after 2nd try I got past the point. Though I am still crashing too frequently. Might be DX12 thing.

when the game crashes for me, the only thing I can do is ctrl + alt + del to sign out of my profile..

Seen something about a bug fix on caspien crash with the release of february the 6 on metrothegame.com. Perhaps this patch isn't yet on steam.

Safe Mode worked for me at the Lighthouse in Caspian level crash, but i did get some other random crashes when bandits ambushed me, i was getting ready to snipe them and the game froze. it happened a couple of times.

im playing in epic launcher and the same happen to me, random crashes with windows logout to restore it, playing with 2080S at 1440p RT ultra + DLSS
