Game crashes on Caspian level when i approach the lighthouse from the cave system

i have been running the game on high from the start of the game. I haven't experienced any crashes before hand , but when i get out of the cave that leads to the lighthouse my game hard crashes and unable to alt-tab. I have tried to mess with the setting but nothing works. I set the graphics as low a possible and i get 200 fps but still it continues to crash.

I would appreciate any help would be great


I just got past the cave and made it to the light house. i turned off the cloud save and it worked for me and quick saved to make sure the progress up the hill was saved. thanks Sterlingskull

Try verify the files, google it perhaps to see if it's a prior-experienced issue during the EGS Exclusive period. Maybe try a re-install.What i'd try to recommend, at least.

I have the same crash. No other issues until the point where I exit the cave to the lighthouse.

Good to know it still has bugs. Hopefully fixed by summer sale then i'll buy.

i have reinstalled it and checked the cach. i have googled the problem and cant seem to find any fixes on the issues.

Also have this insanely stupid bug. Out from the cave and then crash every time. Been told to turn off Dx12, hair works, updated my drivers and system to the latest versions etc. None of that have worked at all. And i am running with at least 200 fps on highest settings. It's hard to imagine they haven't fixed these bugs for a whole year now. I really hope there is someone who knows how to fix this, course it does not seem that the Dev of metro even try bother fixing it.

I never use DX12, DX11 is more stable.

load a savegame bevor you got out of the cave you must do the cave part loud not sneaky
this fixed my freeze

was stuck at the same spot for 2 days. I also posted requesting a fix and recieved a lot of options, none of which worked for me.

It felt like something to do with the saving function to me and someone else reminded me that Steam defaults to "cloud saving", even though i've turned if OFF time and time again. Turned that off, cause it was on, and poof, no more bug for me.

Perhaps it is coincidence, but i'm thankful, hopefully helps you guys too.

So far, this workaround as worked for me both times I've played through the lighthouse mission.

When you get to the end of the cave and begin crawling out, either wait for the game to crash or simply exit. At this point, I re-installed my graphics drivers through GeForce Experience (Just use the Express Installation). I believe this causes the game to rebuild the shaders, which might be the cause of the crash (not sure, just a hunch). Once the driver re-install is complete, launch the game, and you should now be able to progress. You shouldn't even need to reboot.

Again, this worked both times for me at this place where it would crash coming out of the cave. Safe mode, and other tweaks would not work. Only this.

Same problem for me, only solution out of all of these that has worked was not using stealth in the caves.

same thing happened to me. I turned off the night vission and I went thru just fine. Also, try walking towards the objective and save every time you make a step. you'll get to it after your crash 3 times or so.
