Performance here vs xbox game pass
Since this game wasn't on steam I tried playing it on xbox game pass a while back, but there the port is horrible and it didn't let me change resolution and it crashed multiple times, and was just not playable. Is the steam port much better? Or is it still a cheap pc port that looks like it got directly ported from console without any work?

Yes, it is much better. I actually came to the forum to make a post about this. The performance especially is night and day; I get about 25 fps more than I did on the Microsoft store version, and minimal stutter. Game has all resolutions for me, although it did crash once while I was trying to change graphics settings. Beyond that I think it's WAY better. To give you more of an idea of how much better it is I just downloaded and tried playing the Microsoft store version last week.

PC version isn't same as console version.

He meant the PC version on the Microsoft store than you get with Gamepass
Oh right I meant the Xbox game pass on PC. I forgot it's on xbox also, my bad.

Thank you for the answer! This makes we want to buy it, but im still not certain.
I had ♥♥♥♥ performance in the XGP version but a few hours ago there was a 500mb update for exodus in xbox app, after that my performance improved significantly, also i dont have any problem changing resolutions or gfx settings but some people have mentioned u cant switch to dx11 in the XGP version, havent tried doing that tho.

I bought the microsoft store version it worked for about a day then all the issues began, then I got an Epic voucher so bought that version thinking it would be better, but if anything it actually ran even worse - stuttering and hitching all over the place whatever setting or resolution I used, my disk usage would always be at 100% when playing it, I will not be buying it here, I am just hoping that now that its on steam, and when all the posts start coming in about it being a stuttering broken mess for lots of people that they will finally fix it.

Damn that sucks that you had so many problems. It's really frustrating when developers fail to make a workable version of their game for everyone. Maybe the smartest is to buy it here and refund if it doesn't work as it should.

Honestly, last time I tried this game on XGP was months ago and was a bad experience. I tried recently on Steam and works flawlessly, but before reaching the 2 hours for the refund, I give it a try one more time on XGP and...works better??? Btw, I could activate RTX without any trouble at all.
