Stuck in first mission with anna
So I just installed the game hoping for a cool night with it. The first mission, I get stuck.

I took my time in the building finding a photo as well. And when the prompt popped up I changed filters once.

I followed Anna's scripted speech and movement, hid behind a bus letting the horde pass by, then we climbed on the bridge and saw a train. At that point, my filter runs out and I can do nothing about it. I got not filters left and I cannot restart the mission. None of the auto save files take me back to the start of the chapter.

I kept choking to death as Anna didn't give a ♥♥♥♥♥ about me and casually kept talking. And everytime I reload the filter is not refreshed and I can't do anything but to wait to die again.

I got so upset about it and turned the game off. Any idea how I can find a filter or restart the mission without having to watch everything from the start?

I think you just have to press the replace filter button, which is T by default iirc. You must be playing without HUD.

I had a real close call too when I started playing, and later on in the middle of the game too. I got a save really near before choking to death. Also with no HUD on Ranger Hardcore. Never play with a HUD if it is not needed in terms of the game design. Anyway, I had to run like a mad in certain direction to either get to some cutscene or randomly happen upon a filter if I didn't have any early on in the game. Died many times before I just ran to where I needed to go as fast as possible. I realize this may not help you, but you are not alone. Thankfully soon enough you won't necessarily have to find filters.

Cause this is complelty at the beginning i would restart the game. Normally at this passage you should not run out of filters, if you're not going for a walk for half an hour slowly.

If you have problems to watch the short cut scenes in the beginning, you will not like the rest of the game. There much more and much longer scenes wo watch and there no way to skip them at all.

I know the button, the problem is the game constantly bothers you to change the filter at 1 minute mark and I didnt check the timer at first filter changing and the second time I needed to change the filter I had already run out of the filters (meaning the game gave me only 1 extra filter). I got punished for taking my time at the very first area. Or the devs didn't think such a thing could occur o.O

I'll probably be on my guard at all times :D I'll have to restart the whole game as it seems.

I've played Metro, and Last Light Redux years ago and I loved the games, the storytelling isn't what bothers me. What bothers me is having to rely on a scripted character who doesn't care about where you are at any rate. For example in COD games, usually you're the one leading the pace, the NPCs (Price/Soap etc...) follow your pace. If you go fast they keep up, if you stay still they keep still at a near point.

I mean I could've exhausted my filter quickly, so I'm trying to trigger the cutscene as quickly as possible where we climb the bridge, but no Anna has to look cool as she walks slowly as I choke to death :')

I have no control over this situation where I can't even turn back to a save before I changed the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ filter, bcz the saving system seems to have a short memory.
