Extreme stuttering
Game stutters a lot despite high fps on a pretty decent PC for a 2019 game. It's almost unplayable. To be more clear here are the specs:gtx1060 3gb,i3 9100f,8gb ram.Should be enough to run without issues.Turning down the settings doesn't change anything. Also why does the game not even have such essential settings as texture resolution, draw distance, etc? And why does it take forever to apply changes when not in main menu?It says "applying changes" about 2-3 minutes

The recommended GPU for Metro Exodus is a "GeForce GTX 1070". So you're gonna have to turn settings down a fair ammount, probably lower res and make sure nothing else is running.

It's a fairly demanding game.

Do you have it installed on an SSD? The stuttering could be from it having to wait for a HDD.
Can you open your task manager and see how much of each resource it's using?

60fps on "high" preset 1080p,this has nothing to do with stuttering. And I would NEVER drop the resolution below 1080p.Game is on 7200rpm HDD with 250+-gb free space.CPU is at 60-80% on avg,GPU is the same(vsync+fps limit through RTSS),6gb ram used,2 free.Already tried all possible fixes including the most ridiculous one like turn off network or run the game in win8 compatibility mode, etc. No idea what's causing these stutters.I almost got used to it and almost finished the game

It's probably the fact that it's on a HDD then. Could be the game streaming data, which causes a hiccup.
No way that's because of HDD.Played more demanding games without issues. Also it seems to stutter more the longer I play.CPU/GPU/RAM usage stays the same

There are a number of reasons for these types of issues to arise.

Not going to hand feed anyone but will just say consider every option you can think of
look at both sides of the picture before making assumptions.

if you are able to run a program that can log in the data flow information on everything

That may help out to better find the issue

so you can see if it's due to graphical game optimization issues

or a issue with the game having issues with understanding what is in your PC.

Or your and you're PC having issues with hand shaking with the game due to having a higher spec than the game was created for

(Higher res etc that the game is not compatible with never know there could be conflicts and compatibility issues)

the list goes on

Just because more demanding games don't doesn't mean this one wont. Not all games are made equal. Some are really bad off HDDs. Depends how they are set up.

Well, this doesn't help at all.All I know is that my PC is well above minimal requirements, yet I have terrible stutters.May be lack of RAM,but why does it leave 2gb free then?If it was an issues with HDD,why does it run better in some benchmarks on youtube ?Here's one
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzqaqWGt8PM clearly zero difference between HDD,SSD and NVMe SSD on this system

I just posted a vid above. No difference between HDD and SSD.My HDD is also 7200rpm

only stutter when saving.

I have MSI afterburner fps frame time graph always on zero issues .

why you have to be mad?the difference between HDD and SSD is so minimal that it's barely worth the price.Did you even watch the video I dropped above?Clearly not lol.And no thanks,I'm not gonna ever play on a f*cking trashsole.

Lol, it is not minimal, and for a lot of people it makes a big difference. It will depend on the game. I really hope you get it worked out. If your specs are at the minimum, then the game should be payable. If you are at the minimum, then that means all your setting should be at the lowest settings. Minimum means the very bottom, not somewhere in the middle, but all the settings should be at low. Obviously you may be able to move some settings up, but for starters, all your settings should be low.

You can also use the tools provided by your operating system to easily see for yourself where the issues are. You should be able to see if you have a bottleneck, or if you CPU and GPU are maxing out, or one or the other.

Metro Exodus is a very demanding game on a PC, whether it is poor optimization or whatever, it is probably the most taxing game you own, so claiming you can play other games of the same load, is probably not true.

Now, lastly, Your PC is a potato, and the last thing someone with a potato should be doing is crying about performance. If you want performance, then pay for it or buy a console. This is PC gaming, and all is not fair in PC gaming. But, if you spend the money, then you get a better experience.

Dude.My PC is far not a potato.Do you have an idea some people are playing on 1050ti,1050 non ti,970 ,960 and even less powerful cards?1060 is a solid GPU even now.i admit there are WAY faster cards with more CUDA cores,VRAM and stuff, but I totally disagree that it's a potato.Ideally I need more RAM but the steam page says 8gb is enough so why would it stutter because of that...Lastly the CPU isn't under constant 100% load so the stuttering can't be because of that obviously. Also I do NOT need to drop the settings to low as I already have 60fps on high preset despite stutter and GPU usage stays at 60-100% depending on the scene with vsync on(also locked to 60fps in RTSS).Low is for a gtx1050 level GPU.I bet Exodus is just a poor console port that's why it's stuttering no matter what.In fact Exodus is the only game out of my steam library+some game from EGS and other services that stutters like crazy. If I had problems with other games as well this thread wouldn't even exist so it's a wrong assumption that I can't play other games of the same load.I did play games where I could reach only 30-40fps without a single noticeable microfreeze.it was smooth as butter despite being 30-40fps.This one stutters despite high fps.Weird stuff.I had some stutter in Ark,but lowering texture resolution to high instead of "epic" solved it completely. That mean 3gb VRAM isn't enough for that option.Exodus doesn't have texture settings and it doesn't have any advanced settings at all.Poor console port, isn't it?I'd typically play around with the texture res,but there's no such option. But the textures don't even look very high res so I don't think it's stuttering because of 3gb.Anyways if a game needs more VRAM it starts consuming RAM instead, but my ram usage never goes above 6gb so again this doesn't look like it's bottlenecked by the memory.I don't know what's going on and literally nothing of what's suggested here and in the net fixed this BS.I gave up and finished the game how it is.Still enjoyed the story and gameplay.I'm about to get another 8gb stick so i'll test it out after that just out of curiosity.
i had and still have stuttering problems i had the game on hdd and installed it on a ssd afterwards and the stuttering is not completely gone but its gotten way better
from time to time there still is a little single stutter

How much ram do you have?1x8,2x8 or 1x16?I still have a pretty slow single 8gb stick but none of games was stuttering so hard.I even used windows ram test utility, the thing says no errors.Still the game was stuttering as hell
