turn off safe mode

so i accidentally put the game in safe mode and since then it runs like ass, lagging very frequently even on low graphics, how do i change it back?

try deleting the user.cfg file in the 'Documents\Saved Games\Metro Exodus' folder, which is where it should be if steam cloud is disabled for this game (recommended).

a google search suggests forcing the game to crash (alt-f4, ctrl-alt-del and kill it with task manager, in BPM hit home button and exit game) then choose 'no' when asked about safe mode again.
