Mouse not clicking
Hello! I just bought Metro Exodus and I realized it has the same issue both Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light had for me: the mouse clicks wont register, or to be more precise, they only register when moving the mouse. Is there a fix for this? Keyboard works fine. For a mouse, I'm using an alienware 510m.

Dell, there's a surprise. It might have something to do with AlienFX, I don't know. Last Light used it and Exodus does too, or something similar, and it hasn't exactly lived up to expectation. Are your Alien drivers up to date? Better still, do you have a spare mouse?

Alien drivers are up to date, support recommended that I just verify game files but it didn't do anything. I don't know if AlienFX has a problem with it, since im using an alienware keyboard aswell and it works just fine. Also Metro games are the only games where I have this problem. I do have a spare mouse but it's a wireless mouse from my laptop and I don't really want to use it lol.

When you say 'keyboard works fine', does that mean the RGB is working properly, in sync with the game? Does the Mouse RGB work with the game? Did you try changing the Mouse DPI &/or Scroll Count settings to be sure its not just the mouse messing with you? (it happens) There's a Windows Mouse Setting called ClickLock, can you check that? Did you try completely uninstalling the Alien gear and Command Centre, testing a generic KB & Mouse, and then re-installing? Might be a simple as that.

When I say keyboard works fine I mean the commands register at all times unlike the mouse commands. I don't care much for the RGB. I didn't consider any other options because its only the Metro games that affect my mouse input and that's it. I found a fix earlier when I was playing but it's extremely inconsistent so it doesnt work as a solution.

What fix did you use? Did you try swapping the mouse to a different USB port?

Fix is basically pop in and out the mouse usb in the same port and restart the computer while in game 2-3 times lmao. Like I said, it's not really consistent, so I don't know what made it click. But this has to be done everytime I open the computer again.

The solutions from Tech Support don't work either so, I guess I'll have to play it like this. But thanks for your help friend! Much appreciated.

Welcome. Sounds like you have the situation well in hand.. ha. Last thought, running the KB & Mouse off different lines might work ie. USB 2 for one device & USB 3 for the other.

Already tried that, still doesnt click for the game. I'm still thinking its something from the mouse itself, not from the game. Or the mouse software settings atleast. But there's nothing I can do there, doesn't make sense to buy a new mouse just to play Exodus, you know? So yeah I guess I'll finish on Ranger Extra Hardcore mode lol.

I'm thinking 'software', no offence but I don't trust Dell. I've probably worked on half-a-hundred of their builds and they're always made backwards. If you don't care about RGB did you try uninstalling the AlienWare software? Windows doesn't need it, it's just fluff. All you need are the drivers and they'll be retained by Windows.

Yeah sounds fair but it doesn't make sense that Metro games are the only ones with this issue on my mouse. So in this scenario I'd rather blame the game than the mouse manufacturer. I don't mind RGB, but I'm using macros with my mouse so uninstalling the software would mean getting rid of those too.

umm.. macros are OS.. nvm

Well I assumed it was tied to the software lol. I could be wrong, but I'll try that out either way.

Dumb thing for me to say without explaining myself. The macros you created using the software are tied to that software but you can create them without too.
