VRS ON or OFF?
I played @1440p extreme setting with my rtx 3080 + i9 9900K oc 5ghz.
Which better setting for best image? VRS ON 2x or VRS OFF??
Thx before

There really isn't any reason NOT to use x2. Variable rate shading is a fantastic way of providing a performance boost by sacrificing some detail in obscure locations on screen such as distant objects where you wouldn't notice the loss in detail anyway.

In the end though, it really comes down to your personal preference. If you somehow have hawk eyes and notice a loss in quality at even x2, turn it off. But I doubt you could see the difference even with a side by side comparison.

VRS 2x better than off isnt it?
BurningSky May 7, 2021 @ 7:23am
VRS is a performance booster. 2x2 adjusts resolution in a 4pixel area while 4x4 does it in a 16 pixel area. So for best image quality set it to off.

I was about to say, isn't VRS supposed to be off for best image quality? Thank you for clearing that up, BurningSky.

Sorry my bad, just use DLSS quality mode or performance mode. VRS reduce much far texture look blurry image texture. For my opinion, when your PC DLSS on when stable in 50-60fps, VRS off. But when DLSS on still have issues laggy just use VRS 2x. When you want more performance use VRS 4x, but the texture going lower or blurry.
Your spec same like me, just use VRS off. I already compared zoomed with Photoshop.

vrs variable rate shader, as low as possible or off if you can with dlss.

My mistake lol

VRS does not affect textures in any way, it only affects transparencies like fire/glass/maybe smoke. Use 2X if you get frametiming tanks during scenes with lots of fire.
