As for the calendar thing, I don't think there's any point in keeping an old and outdated calendar with mismatching days etc., just because it used to be the most recent one. It would, however, make sense to re-use an older calendar where the days of the week are identical again. I. e. if the 13th of January is Wednesday today, it would only be Wednesday again a certain amount of years before.
Without checking, I'd assume the days of the week are the same for 1980 AND 2033 for each month.

tbf they're not nazis, they're just fascists so that's not really too much of a stretch. I think the fact that there's a lot of soviet union stuff is that many of the areas of russia still have lots of leftovers of the soviet union, it's only the really super populated places that have more modern stuff. I don't remember a lot of soviet stuff in actual Moscow, but only the far away places in the exodus campaign so i guess it's possible. For the calendar i have no idea, that seems very strange.
