I have a question regarding the lore (possible spoiler)
So, the story of the Metro games takes place between the years 2033-2035.
Metro 2033 Redux took place in 2033. (obviously)
Metro Last Light Redux took place in 2034.
And Metro Exodus takes place in 2035.
Miller said near the lighthouse in the caspian desert that Artyom needs to search for evidence before the war, explicit saying it should be before 2013. (Which makes sense because in all of the Metro games it is said, that the citizens of the Metro now live 20 years underneath Moscow.
The thing is... multiple calenders in Metro Exodus show the year 1980 and not the last one which should be before the war: 2013.
Also, the tech is way outdated in that bunker at the lighthouse. Telephones and computerscreens look very old and not up to date within the year 2013.
I´ve not completed Metro Exodus and haven´t read the books so far (I still want to do that though)
Is this somewhere explained? These calenders with 1980 on them make me crazy, seriously.
What I also don´t understand is that there are signs of the soviet union everywhere! On every world map so far it still exists within this game and the bunker also showed the communist sign. Multiple dead bodies also still have soviet soldier uniforms. Didn´t the soviet union collapse in the Metrouniverse?
Thanks in advance for any reply! ;-)

The book is from 2007 so you wouldn't be able to have accurate 2013 things in there. I guess they didn't want to add too much "newer" things in the game (2010) either. One could argue that old stockpiles of uniforms etc. would make a valid replacement for the current ones once they're gone instead of manufacturing new ones or repair the old ones wasting lots of ressources.

As for the calendar thing, I don't think there's any point in keeping an old and outdated calendar with mismatching days etc., just because it used to be the most recent one. It would, however, make sense to re-use an older calendar where the days of the week are identical again. I. e. if the 13th of January is Wednesday today, it would only be Wednesday again a certain amount of years before.
Without checking, I'd assume the days of the week are the same for 1980 AND 2033 for each month.

Interesting assumption!

And you have Nazi in last light, it's in 2034 even though 89 years from the WW2... just don't take everything too realistically

tbf they're not nazis, they're just fascists so that's not really too much of a stretch. I think the fact that there's a lot of soviet union stuff is that many of the areas of russia still have lots of leftovers of the soviet union, it's only the really super populated places that have more modern stuff. I don't remember a lot of soviet stuff in actual Moscow, but only the far away places in the exodus campaign so i guess it's possible. For the calendar i have no idea, that seems very strange.
