Game too short?
I've played the main story to the max, explored everything, free roamed everywhere, did this for the two DLCs aswell. Don't get me wrong I love the Metro series, both games and books and I adore the atmosphere and the post-apocalyptic felling of Eastern Europe in the game, but I feel that the game is way too short and it left me wanting way more. No idea if its just me or the fact I cant let the game and story end.

Apparently the Taiga map has been cut down. On YouTube user car kidz shows how to explore a huge detailed Taiga out of map area. A larger Taiga area than we have now would have made sense, since we want to use all the gear we found in the Volga and Caspian areas.

I agree the game felt short, for a game ment to take place over a year and span across half of russia it seems odd to me that there was only 4 stops, are you telling me that the fish cult was really the first group of people that the train came across and the only group block the trains path, Are the oil bandits really the only organised bandit group that tried to attack the train and the distance from moscow to the volga is not a short stop and there are alot of towns betwen there.

honestly it felt like there should have been at least a dozen or so stops along the way, i mean they cross over from Russia into Kazakhstan with the caspain and tagia both taking place in it yet there is not much of a mention. Honeslty there is so many places onlong the way and how the journy was done in exodus made the world feel very dead and empty when in reality i doubt it would be so. Every village we pass is an empty ruin, every road is full of dead cars and every building is destoryed to some degree which seems odd to me also as i iamgine the areas would be more overgrown than destoryed.

While you can spend alot of time playing the game the journy its self felt very short and not at all like it was taking place over a year, honestly had Artyom not said the jounry took a year in a loading screen i though the game would have been only set across a couple of months with the change in wether being because of them being ether in the colder north or hotter south

According to Google Maps a train ride today takes 1 d 4 h from Moscow to Astrachan, and 7 d 22 h from Astrachan to Wladiwostok. Let's double that time due to an old steam engine and it takes about 20 d. Double that again due to ambushes and track repairs, and it takes 40 d. Let's add more unspecified trouble and it takes 2 months. Why would that trip take a whole year?
But as others have said above, there must have been many more blockades and shortages along the trip. Not all of them should have been included in the game, but it should have been more, and more diverse (stop for track replacement due to plundering, engine failure, etc.) Make the open world areas smaller and more like extended corridors, but put more of them in the game.
The game definitively feels too short, much like Deus Ex Mankind Divided.
Game length is relative.

Wishing there was more is a good thing.
"Can't wait for it to end" or "I had to rage quit"... not so much.

"When you sit with a nice girl for two hours you think it’s only a minute, but when you sit on a hot stove for a minute you think it’s two hours. That’s relativity."

Often attributed to Albert Einstein but no proof exists; yet the point is valid. (^.-)

Artyom has a positive outlook on life.
Many of those playing... not so much. That's illuminating.

i agree, would have been nice if there was some linier levels that where inbetwen all the main ones but fouced on the train moving though a section of the line where the player has to scout a head and find stuff for repairs or fend of bandits
