Most chapters aren't in chapter select?

Hi, I recently started playing metro exodus again, and one of the things I wanted to do was get all the collectibles in the main game and dlcs. I've missed one diary in the main campaign, but going to the chapter select the only levels that are there are intro, moscow, autumn, dead city and finale. I did have to get a steam cloud save file since my original one got deleted when i reformatted my drive, but I'd imagine the levels woulds till be here since I played Taiga - the ending recently. Does changing the difficulty affect this menu at all? Any info would be nice, thanks, also how do I go about NG+, just select a few modifications and it starts the game over? I'd imagine that's a way I can get the collectibles if the chapter select is like this.

You can't change difficulty in chapter select, only when you choose "new game". You must finish the game to play NG+ by select "new game" and choose the slot written with NG+ available

ok thank you :) I just wonder why I'm missing chapters like Volga, Taiga, Spring, etc from chapter select but I completed them since I beat the game xD

Your problem might be the sync bug, disable it here:
Right click the game in the steam client, select Properties, select Updates tab, disable sync.
btw, you 'can' change difficulty in a first playthrough, in chapter select '&' in NG+. You can't change difficulty on Ranger and no, changing difficulty doesn't affect collectables.
You shouldn't be missing chapters or collectables. Collectables are stored in one of your config files. When you downloaded that save did you overwrite your config (user.cfg or profile.cfg) with theirs?

Oh no, when I reinstalled steam and everything, there was no config file at all when I launched metro. It said save file corrupt or missing, so I used steam cloud to download one of my saves and go with that. It has the collectables saved from before, I'm just missing chapters. Is there a guide about how to edit the config file? Maybe I could try that.
