using grenades...?

Risking having my head bitten off again by impatient people, I have managed to make a few grenades and found one also, I have no idea how to use them now. They do not show up in inventory (TAB) and do not seem to have a 'quick select' button (1-10). I am making progress; I'm in the building trying to get the rail car. Certainly progressing more slowly than you veterans, but having fun, so p[lease be kind with this noob!

Look in the command options "Weapon". It's "Special weapon", it seems to me.

press and HOLD C...

let's get this out of the way now, consider C as CAST and not CROUCH, because if you press C to crouch and you have a molotov or grenade selected, you are going to be reloading in 3... 2... 1... :-)

burn that into your brain. C is not crouch!

Anyway, close your eyes, press and hold C... you'll hear a noise.

Whatever was selected last makes a noise.

While holding the C key down, roll the mouse to the left, you'll hear a "chht!" - it's very quiet - this is death. this is the "fuse" catching fire sound. That's grenade.

Still holding C, roll right, you'll hear liquid sloshing in a bottle - molotov (molotovs are usually gasoline and diesel, that sounds like water in an empty soda bottle, not that I've ever made or thrown a molotov that would be illegal.)

Still holding C, roll up, you get a "ffffp!" the thowing knife...

Still holding C, roll down, you hear a metal food can being dropped or kicked on something hard, like concrete...

that is how you select.

TAP C to throw whatever it is. Be aware the knife is really the only one you need to be accurate with, but the arcs are different. Make a quick save, go outside and practice. Once you think you've got a handle on it, go insider and practice... the shockwave will damage and even kill you, from a lot farther away than you'd think.

It's better to know in advance, wouldn't you say?

in the Options/Controls/Weapons is a Throw Secondary key. it performs 2 functions. Select and Throw. HOLD for Select, TAP to throw. (sound effects are correct as stated above). there is a HUD pop-up in lower difficulties too (bottom left) but it isn't available in full dive. (ha)

By the way, I have been circling round and round the terminal, unable to find the final exit. Can anyone give me a hint, without giving away the store?

'me me'. have you found the train carriage? if you've found the train carriage, there is a door with a wheel that you need to turn. it's about 20 metres away from the carriage. look at the train tracks for that carriage. they lead to the door. (i've just realised something. i've outrun Death)

I have found *a* train car, full of coal, and now seem stuck in this area, unable to go far
lacking filters. So, I've decided to start he Volga chapter again from the beginning.

Hey Death, how's it going...

ah.. i said carriage, not train. in the Terminal that's full of humanimals and the big catfish is a small locomotive (but that part is retrieving Krest's loco so you knew that). you'll use that to get the carriage that you're after, which is at another location. hint: after you hit the water, skirt the walls clockwise (it's a linear path anyway) and you'll find the train good luck.

cuss nailed it, no need to answer that! Once you find the lever(s) to rotate the tracks that's your "a-ha!" moment... and when you find the altar... definitely experiment with what you can do, John the Fisherman. (oooh a Primus reference not involving the South Park theme)

re: the tone, donald glad you understand... everyone's on edge and this is our way of dealing... it's just us, it's the corona and too much gaming, I think... we spend an inordinate amount of time on the discussions lately and we all get a bit goofy. No malice or bad intent is ever intended, it's all meant in a light-hearted "screw it we're all gonna die one day" kind of dark humor...
