For a general rule of thumb, you can kill bandits; killing pretty much anyone who isn't a bandit is a no no, knocking out only. Never shoot innocents, and never kill surrendering enemies, even if they're a bandit. As far as I know, the three big things besides this, things you need to do to get the good Volga ending:
Don't kill people while escaping the church (knock em out if you gotta), don't kill any of the merchant boat guards, don't kill anyone while stealthing the bridge. Free any innocent people you find that are trapped, and don't get into any fights with the cultists. If you encounter any, approach them with your weapon lowered and flashlight off.
For the Caspian, it's more or less the same. However, it's also a bit more tricky as there's more events to cover.
Don't kill the bandit that ambushes you at the start, knock him out
There's two major slave camps you need to liberate. For the one in the canyon, you just need to kill or knock out every guard, and free any prisoners (if there are any, anyways I can't remember). For the ship one, same thing, but make sure to free all the prisoners, I know for sure there are some here. Find Giul the picture of her mother in the bunker, and when you're stealing the water tank, free the slaves in the back. I think you also need to stealth this section. In the final area, save the slave about to be beaten by his master, and save the prostitute from being beaten. This WILL however trigger a huge firefight and I don't think there's any way around it.
Also never shoot any slaves, even if they're attacking you. Never shoot innocents either. This should be enough to propel you into the good ending for the Caspian.
I dont think there is anything that really changes playing "your way", except some of your crew may not be with you in the final Chapter(s). The stealth version of play may appeal to some players, and I played all the way through in stealth mode one time. I also played through in the Kill Everything Evil mode and it was more fun. Only problem with the evil mode, I had a hard time finding ammo on occasion or resources to make any.
I agree, the Bad ending makes more sense, but I didn´t want everyone else to die... Plus I don´t know about the others but the guy that dies at volga is super anticlimactic and stupid... Well.... gues a random bullet killed you right at the end of everything in a place with plenty of cover.
I get it can hapen, but it comes out of nowhere.
I don´t mind the "try to kill as little innocent people as posible" Anna even aknowledged that I had killed almost nobody escaping and the cultists were talking about me in a "he isn´t to bad" way, which I thought would be enough... but hey... you killed 2 guards that were shooting at you and your team killed 2 merchants cause they saw you and you couldn´t knock them up in time..... guess you are a monster.
I was just curious if runing to someone who has seen you and is shooting at you and knocking them out counts for the good ending.
PS: In bandid camps I think it is actually more evil to knock them out. There are plenty of corpses and that guy is either going to wake up being torn appart by mutants or to see his friends bodies being eaten alive, find out he has no bullets, try to run, then get torn appart.... I am such a good person.
I seriously hate when games reduce morality to the american standard of... well.. I didn´t literally pulled the trigger on the last bullet he took so I played no role in anything that happened.
It helps if you free prisoner from the bandits. Also lower your weapon when talking to non-hostile cultists. They will note that you are well behaved and respect you.
