Ray Tracing Bugged?
RTX is bugged on my PC for this game. I own the game on Epic Games and it worked fine until two updates ago, but now the global illumination pulses light pixels on objects. It is easily seen in the benchmark when day turns to night at the end of it. All my other games that use Ray Tracing work fine. I've also tried older video drivers to see if it was a driver issue but the bug was still there. I also notice it very easily when you knock out an ememy and the fire from their light causes it to pulse light pixels on surrounding objects. Is anyone else seeing this? I can't really play the game with RTX on, it's pretty distracting. My GPU is a EVGA RTX 2080.

Video? Verify files? Clean install latest drivers?

I've reinstalled the game a couple of times on different SSD's and always do a clean install of drivers. Going back to old drivers of last year didn't help as well. Might get a recording of it if I have the time. I have another PC that has a GTX 1080 which is capable of running RTX on but the frame rate is in the 20's due to not having RT cores. It just dawned on me that I couldl run the benchmark on that PC to see if the same thing happens.

could you show a pic/video of it? hard to understand what you mean. i get artifacts too, like gibs glowing and some glimmering from the ray tracing settings, but maybe you have something more specific going on.
it's possible, if you're using the same save that it could be related to having played the both versions of the game. It's also half off currently on GOG btw, props to the companies involved for putting it up on GOG so quickly after release (and of course for not leaving denuvo in the other versions afterward as well). I had it on epic, currently fired it up to patch out the denuvo on it after just reading about this. I need to finish that last dlc they put out, so this is a good excuse to do so. Last time I played was around when that last dlc out, and while I noticed it being a bit more demanding with the fps, the ray tracing seemed to look proper to me then. I didn't get too far past getting onto the sub and talking to the guy on there though iirc. Also on the more discussions tab on the right I see a thread mentioning a hotfix in the title, maybe check that out and see if it's related. It's most likely to be the driver you're using though, since throughout the year I remember having seen multiple drivers from nvidia mentioning this game and rtx adjustments. About to finally install the most recent driver myself after downloading a backup of current (a 442 one .74 iirc) after I read they fixed the shader cache bug from the last one before today's.

I also use a 2080 btw.

To better explain the problem. It's like light sources instead of having a radius of light shading the surrounding objects it renders as shimmering pixels that pulse brighter and dimmer. I think it's just bugged for me. The game is still fun without ray traced global illumination but it would be nice if it worked like it did in the past.

Yes that is exactly what happens.
