What are your systems specs? I've played through the game multiple times now, and very rarely have any problems whatsoever. I do have a fairly high end system, and I did have to apply some "fixes" in order to resolve some issues that a lot of players seem to experience, but after I did that, the game has been running almost flawlessly.
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
Intel Core i7 4770K
GeForce RTX 2080 Ti
16.0GB RAM
SSD 850 EVO 1TB
Windows is up to date, I did clean install of nvidia drivers and didn’t install GeForce experience cause I heard that caused problems, I disabled all overlays.
I disabled hairworks
I did this in the nvidia control panel
I don’t have any other programs like MSI afterburner running
I did a clean install of Windows in January and don’t want to have to do it again so soon. This is the only game that has given me problems in years.
try Shadow of the Tomb Raider Demo, has DX12 & RTX
Just did as you said, Tomb Raider demo runs great with everything on ultra and RTX on. Battlefield 5 and Modern Warfare 2019 also run great with everything on Ultra and RTX on. It’s just Metro that’s broke for some reason
yeah, that narrows it down to the game pretty much
Just checked and it does leave one
might also help if you run userbenchmark and post a link to the report page
restart pc b4 running test

You could try rolling back to an older driver or a newer one (if available). For what it is worth I am using 442.74.
I've seen mentions of all manner of 'fixes' but hard to tell if any would be beneficial. For example, using DDU driver cleaner to remove the GPU driver and then doin a clean install of the latest driver. Disabling any integrated GPU you may have on your CPU in the BIOS. Moving your GPU to another PCIe x16 slot.

Hey, all!
If you happen to be getting a D3DDRED2 error it would be best to report this to Nvidia directly. These types of crashes create DRED dumps that we cannot directly parse. If there is an issue directly related to WoW, Nvidia will be able to reach out to us through the proper channels after getting these DRED dumps.
There's no red entry for Metro and here are the results for the test

I'll try using your driver version and see what happens
