Plus this game loves crashing like a mfer several months after release, i bought it on the epic store about 4-5 months after release, still crashing btw! I didn't have any fps or graphical glitches just random crashes.
The story was like good, but very predictable it wasn't even a good ending at all and we got to see none of the progress we made, it was crappy still frame cutscene. Like as soon as you leave the wasteland desert the game went down a huge fall for me, everything up to that was very fun and i loved the cannibal fortress level. But the taiga and the final level, holy crap what was the point? I was expecting an open world experience again like the desert level but it was very linear and the the bear boss fight was laughable as hell, i felt like i was playing ratchet and clank boss battle! Then the final level was just a rehash of the first game libarian and it just felt like a cop out, like i feel the game ran out of money or something?
Maybe my expectation were too swayed by everyone saying it would be like a fallout game and when the developers mention it would be more open world, i sorted expect what fallout was doing.
This is not an Action series at all, and these mechanics aren't new implements to add difficulty, they are the core concept of the game since the beginning of the series.
I can't agree you more about Taiga. It felt like a discount Tomb Raider/Uncharted level. It looks like the developers wanted to include something for 'everyone'. Volga felt like Fallout and Stalker, Yamantau felt like Wolfenstein or any linear shooter, Caspian felt like Fallout and Mad Max, Taiga felt like Tomb Raider.
But I disagree about Dead City. Especially the darker deeper parts when the Colonel leaves you alone. I thought it was the best part. And because I didn't play the first two games, it didn't feel repetitive.
I also agree about the expectations. When I saw the review scores, I was like `holy cow this is the game of the year' and boy was I wrong.
This perfectly summarizes it.
I don't agree.
This is a shooter game. The challenge should be how you handle the enemies or face a difficult situation by applying your brain and skills. Changing the Mask Filter or charging the battery in the middle of the combat or other places just breaks the immersion. It's an added mechanics that does not serve anything to the main game or its mission and don't need any skills.
Anyone can make a game inventing lot more of those real life mechanics unlimited. That does not makes a game more better.
Seems OP wants more run of the mill action games?
Sorry - but Metro never was that type of game.
Then tell me what types of game Metro really is?
Everyone keep saying Metro is a special kind of game, but I don't see anything special in Metro which don't present in other open world RPG based games such as Fallout or Far Cry series. Those games are also story driven open world games with RPG elements and even deeper crafting system, even better than Metro.
Just because Metro has some added mechanics such as Changing Mask filter and Charging the battery, does not makes Metro special.
It's an illusion.
Realism such as stupid boring custom animations EVERYWHERE, sometimes during dull dialogues, is just dull and a waste of energy.
