Setting the game Ryzen 7 - 580 radeon 8 gb rx.
Ryzen 7 1700 16 ram 3200 580 xfx 8 gb last drivers card 27'' screen so i go for 1440 res.

I played for hours with ultra and all to "semi max" (6 h) but it was disturbing to have stuttering when bad weather was about to load and i started to go in the outskirts of the first place we go at (open - winter monastery)...

So I was looking for something (even if I read that desert will pose more challenges to the gpu... since I know that under effort cards can "burn" and i can't afford that to happen)... i was checking suggestions and run the benchmarks too now already 4 times.. and i m kind of tired of it.

I got to a 57 average with 35 drops and max 79 fps.

These were the options (copypaste)

Options: Resolution: 2560 x 1440; DirectX: DirectX 12; Quality: Medium; Texture filtering: AF 4X; Motion Blur: Low; Tesselation: Full; Advanced PhysX: On; Ray Trace: Off; DLSS: Off; Hairworks: Off; Shading Rate: 70;

I read that shading can help.. i just did not like the "tents frameworks" .. in that abandoned cottage at night, the fire is ok, i like it even more now at lower than before when i was trying "ultra or else"... (strange isn't it?) well.. in reality i "play with fire" a lot and i have to say .. fire is never detailed and u never look at it much or u "ruin the eyes" or anyway it's "never detailed"...

It's not that I am creating this story on purpose, just saying that it's better at low graphics.
I also tried direct x 11.. since some said that if no big gpu is used (above 1080ti) then to use 11 for all the lower ones. Actually other (suggestion last used) say to use dx12 with 1440 pixels which I will use... no matter what also to exploit all the width of the screen... (27'')

So anybody has any suggestion? I am not a "techie nerd" i dnt like to go in the game again and change the settings as i will move elsewhere in the chapters. What i mean is that i like to keep things the same for the whole journey.

SO what do you think ? maybe raise shaders? or even try High?... yes.. i know i should test it..

It's just boring.. the benchmarks tests are so many to do...

The thing is that maybe also my AMD radeon settings softwares 20.0.2 last software are getting in the equation.. but i did not change them much...from "standard".

Thanks (sorry i am not much interested in modifying game files...)

i would go quality to high and AF to 16x turn phys x off and see if you can raise the shading rate a touch
ah ok.. I basically made "M" choice ... you would insead do the "contrary" and make a "W" choice (upside down of what i have done...

yes .. i am running the game in ultra x4 and shaders at 0.7 phys on and rest off... it's 1440.
So i should try instead 16...

Indeed i suffer a bit of how it has lost quality from what i had set in beginning 3 days ago ( super ultra etc... but it is not sustainable for my pc).

Maybe the solution u say is better...
It's non sense to have ultra and 4x Anisofiltering.
Like putting a ferrari engine in a cinquecento... i guess

Will try next time what you said. Or even try a benchmark like that now.

And.. what does actually motion blur do? it helps immersion with that "vapor "effect if i run etc around the edges of anything (clothes, gun, environment?)...

Maybe with that low i can even go Ultra, 16x a use 67 shaders? and the rest off.

I just wish I could get the best (... and around 40 FPs for me is good as long as it is stable and high quality as i like details and lights and so on and the soft effect on textures and not pixelous\cartoon animated movie type of colors in a game like this.
This is the one i set now just for curiosity:

Options: Resolution: 2560 x 1440; DirectX: DirectX 12; Quality: Ultra; Texture filtering: AF 16X; Motion Blur: Low; Tesselation: Off; Advanced PhysX: On; Ray Trace: Off; DLSS: Off; Hairworks: Off; Shading Rate: 68;
Run 0

Total Frames: 4275; Total Time: 104.3776 sec
Average Framerate (99th percentile): 41.35
Max. Framerate (99th percentile): 55.43 (Frame: 811)
Min. Framerate (99th percentile): 27.81 (Frame: 454)

--- This is the one you suggested. below (more frames processed)

Options: Resolution: 2560 x 1440; DirectX: DirectX 12; Quality: High; Texture filtering: AF 16X; Motion Blur: Normal; Tesselation: Off; Advanced PhysX: Off; Ray Trace: Off; DLSS: Off; Hairworks: Off; Shading Rate: 80;
Run 0

Total Frames: 4868; Total Time: 104.4688 sec
Average Framerate (99th percentile): 46.97
Max. Framerate (99th percentile): 60.83 (Frame: 59)
Min. Framerate (99th percentile): 31.59 (Frame: 4180)

it is clearly better to use physix on since i have a strong CPU...

I had a feeling that WATER was better in the first (even if shading rate is low at 68 ...) when that animal in the end goes in the water.. instead with high it looks like 10 years ago graphics...
