Ranger hardcore : NO SAVE

Hi guys, I finished the game in normal and wanted to play again for unlocking all the achievements. I started playing in ranger hardcore with no gameplay modifier from new game +. As soon as I arrived to Volga chapter, the game stopped saving automatically. And of course manual save is not working since it's ranger hardcore...

I can sleep, reach discussions, cinematics, repair my weapons, craft some things, drink from the canteen, it NEVER saves. I tried going into config files as explained in some threads or here https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Metro_Exodus#Enable_manual_saving_in_Ranger_mode but it just doesn't work.

Has anyone a solution that I didn't try yet ? I find it quite unbelievable the game could have such ball breaking bug

Are you positive you didn't enable Iron Mode for NG+?

Hey, what I did exactly was finishing the game in normal mode, then start a new game plus in lowest difficulty level along with iron mode. Besides I created a new game (no new game plus) and chose Ranger hardcore (max difficulty).

Okay, so are you playing the Reader (lowest diff.) with Iron Mode, or the Ranger HC save, right now? Which one is it?

Iron Mode only saves between levels. Meaning you need to complete all of Caspian in one go, without dying, then move on to the Taiga level to save (or one of the train missions), for an example.

The save problem, and what I'm playing is Ranger HC at the moment, I've no problem playing on the reader level save

Hmm. I'm not sure what could be the problem. Could be a bug with the different saves, or something. Maybe your Ranger HC somehow is affected by Iron Mode. I'm just guessing at this point.

Thanks for your help, that was my guess too, so I tried deleting Iron mode/reader save (or rather put it in another "safe" directory), leaving just the Ranger HC save, but no difference... At that point I'm just trying to reinstall the game.

The weirdest about this is that for the moskow level, auto saves had no problem. But since the Winter or the very beginning of Volga, no more auto saves...

I think the most probable case is that the Ranger HC save is simply bugged. I don't think reinstalling the game would do anything, since it's save related. I would try starting another save on Ranger HC to see if the problem persists.

You mean create a new game on Ranger HC ? I'll try that and redo Moscow, but I guess it'll end up the same way and I'll lose several hours of playing.
