-You cannot kill any fanatics under and circumstances
-Bandits are okay to kill but when one surrenders it's best to knock them out
Main Story:
-In the church it's important to get through it completely unnoticed. That means not starting any alarms and no bodies being found by other fanatics. If you leave the church with the fanatics alerted the game will still count it against you!(you know if you did it correctly if Duke comments on your stealth when you get ashore)
-Be sure to not kill any traders on the boats. To best ensure that you don't mess with your karma try your best to not kill or knock out any traders. (I know its a ♥♥♥♥♥ because they put so many of them close together but it's doable)
-On the bridge do not kill or alert any fanatics. I was able to get through it without killing or knocking out a single fanatic so don't worry you can do it.
Side Missions:
So along the way you can do various things to increase your karma.
-Saving the fanatic from the cage in the tower
-Saving the three fanatics in the building in the center of the map(they will also give you a key so you can unlock the night vision goggles earlier aswell!)
-Dont shine your light on any of the fanatics and also keep your gun holstered(they will comment on it and thank you)
-Recover the teddy bear for the little girl(found in the circular tower on the far right of the map)
-Recover the guitar found on the tower near the tracks
-You can also gauge how well you are doing when you talk to a villager or fanatic. Some of their voicelines may remark how you acted in the church. Even if you didn't kill anyone but still alerted a guard then they may say something like how you "killed almost everyone in the church"
-Give both of the items to the people who wanted them after you bring the passenger car to the Aurora
Now most of this stuff you can do pretty easily and also manage to find more loot so it's not so much of a pain. The things under the main story section are by far the most important. If you ♥♥♥♥ those up then you may as well reload a save or two. I have heard of people who slip one or two things and still get Duke but for me it hasn't gone that way.
In the end if Duke still dies it's very possible your save may be bugged or you may have missed a thing or two without noticing. That's it for this guide. If anyone has something to add please put it below. Hope this helps!
The karma system in exodus is actually quite good and striaghtforward compared to the other titles. No more bad ending because you missed to interact with a guitar hidden under a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bed in some godforsaken room.
1) Do not kill fanatics and slaves. The game tells you more than once that fanatics do not deserve to be killed.
2) Anna/Miller/whatever will explicitly tell you when not to kill and be stealthy before going on missions.
3) Do not kill bandits who surrendered, knock them out instead.
4) Free slaves and fanatics held captives.
5) Do side quests. Give Giul her photo, pay attention when she asks you that because this will not be listed as quest
6) Knocking out guards or fanatics is fine, but do not get caught or alert the others.
For example, i always kill every bandits even if they surrendered. Because they tried to kill me and THEY CALLED ME *B*ITCH.
The only thing u have to do is dont kill surrendering fighters only knock down
and u have to get good karma for saving civiliants form bandits
Thats all
YOU RE DAMM RIGHT
